"That reminds me,” Nancy said in a low voice to Frank after Marianne had turned away. “Marianne caught us talking last night. I’m not sure exactly what she saw – or heard. I made up a story about our sneaking off to be alone,” Nancy said, batting her eyelashes at Frank.
"Two young agents on a romantic rendezvous. I think she bought it. Good thinking, sweetheart," Frank said with a grin. "From now on, if we get caught talking over our cases in a hidden corner somewhere, I'll say that I'm whispering sweet nothings in your ear."
