Background: She was an orphan at the age of 10-11, so she was taken in by the Saint Church's orphanage and was put in charge of cleaning the library as a child. The then scribe Laura Lee Smith didn't agree with such a young girl cleaning, so she took her in to help her write and translate the texts she was working on. When the Grand Sorcerer Charlotte arrived in Wiskayok, she saw great magical potential in Jacqueline and offered to take her as her apprentice to develop her magic. It took her a while to adjust to Charlotte's nomadic life, especially because she didn't like the experience of being away from Shauna Shipman (her lifelong best friend and also the girl she was in love with) for so long.

From a very young age, Van showed great skill with a sword, so her father trained her to be exceptional. Because of her great strength and perseverance, she decided to become a paladin instead of a simple knight. She met Taissa one of the times she accompanied his father to the Royal Palace during the palace's guard training, and fell madly in love from the first time she saw her. King Bill had teamed up with the Grand Sorcerer Charlotte and offered her a platoon for her adventures, but the Sorcerer declined, accepting only one companion: Van.

Worst skill: She struggles to connect with magical creatures and plants. Her innate power comes from dark magic, which is destructive, but she fundamentally avoids using it at all costs.
Background: Descended from a long and pure lineage of dark magic, Charlotte has dedicated her entire life to learning all the knowledge she could about the different manifestations of magic (and especially about healing and light magic). She saw firsthand how dark magic was prone to corrupting her family; witnessing her father—possessed by a dark force that dwells within all Matthews—exterminate her mother and all the residents of the family mansion. From a young age, she has had visions that have come true, and in some places she has come to be considered an Oracle of the gods. Due to the darkness that haunts her, she has chosen not to put down roots anywhere, so she is always wandering in search of new knowledge (and despite this, she has made many enemies in the magical community). Her visions led her to the Kingdom of Wiskayok, where it was revealed to her that she must take Jacqueline as her apprentice. Since she met the ecclesiastical Laura Lee Smith, her soul has been intertwined with hers for the rest of eternity, but her fervent fear that the darkness in her will ruin Laura Lee's life (in addition to not wanting to get in the way of her religious career) has never wanted to confess her deepest feelings.

Greatest Talent: She remembers every person she's ever seen, is excellent at handling small sharp objects, and has a great command of the written word.
Worst skill: She's very impulsive, gets bored easily, and her temper has gotten her into several trouble with clients. She's extremely possessive.
Background: She always dreamed of dedicating herself to poetry and writing brilliant plays that could be performed in all the known realms. But she gained her limited academic training from the times she was able to visit Jackie when she was a resident of the Great Cathedral. She is deeply interested in magic and literature, but almost never gets to explore these subjects because she must always help her mother in the tavern or her father in his butcher shop when her irresponsible younger brothers disappear due to drunkenness at any time of the week. She has a vast collection of books that Jackie has brought her from her travels, and one of her deepest desires is to be able to accompany Jackie on all her adventures.

Background: The daughter of the king's treasurer and an influential aristocrat, her parents instilled in her a strong ambition to leave a lasting legacy. Van caught her eye from the moment she saw her training with her father as a teenager, but she never thought their paths would cross until Van actively began pursuing her. She is deeply aligned with King Bill's goals and her greatest wish is to be remembered as one of the most intelligent councilors who was instrumental in making the Kingdom of Wiskayok one of the most powerful.

Greatest Talent: She is a polymath with an excellent memory. She has a good command of luminous spiritual magic and a very noble heart.
Worst skill: Her sense of duty makes it impossible for her to form deep bonds with people, she has trouble managing her time, and she has many accidents in the kitchen.
Background: Her father was a very old man and a highly virtuous scribe, and from a young age, he sensed that she should follow his legacy. She was motherless from birth, so all she knows are the walls of the Great Cathedral library, the ink, and the thousands of books she had to study and translate alongside her father until his death. The leaders of the ecclesiastical ordinance saw in her strong magical potential and a worthy advisor for the combined goals of the Church and the Kingdom. These leaders pushed an agenda for her to aspire to begin her career in the political spheres of the Great Church (so that she would not be a mere scribe without influence). Due to her charisma and knowledge, she rose very quickly through the established ranks, recently becoming the youngest cardinal in the entire kingdom. By her new rank, she is expected to surrender only her soul, body and spirit to the spiritual and ecclesiastical order of the Kingdom of Wiskayok: but, by fortune and misfortune, it was revealed to her that the Great Wandering Sorcerer was her predestined soulmate.
