Only reminded bc I saw the Koko vid, The Gorilla Foundation were also awful to the Silverback Ndume. He was brought in 1991 to mate with Koko but that never happened. He had nowhere near enough space, nor proper socialization for the decades he was there (none of TGF's gorillas did). They also reneged on their promise to return him to Cincinnati Zoo after Koko's death in 2018. He wasn't returned until 2019, after a lawsuit, and even then TGF tried to prevent his return. That said, he's formed a small troop now and seems to be thriving.

Yeah, someone else mentioned that story in the notes. I'm so sad to hear that and the more we dig into the GF the more troubling things we find. I'm very happy he's in a proper home now!
