"Shifting his carbine rifle over his shoulder and out of the way, Canderous knelt by the pool of blood. Carefully, he moved the thick mass of hair at her neck aside to check her pulse. Faint, but steady nonetheless. He assessed the worst of her injuries and eyed the nearby detritus to see what materials he had on hand for field dressing them. She didn't appear to have any spinal injuries, but her left arm was twisted unnaturally and she was still bleeding sluggishly into the pavement from gashes he couldn't see in her current position."
I finally finished it! I had to keep reminding myself that it was my own fault I chose multiple lighting sources and a lot of detail. Now I just have to edit the actual fic chapter and I can finally put it up (with the hopes that it entices me to finish writing it).
