Kaoru embraces her new specter-filled life as the owner of Ghost Mansion and starts recruiting for new non-living residents!

Basic Premise: A strong-willed and easygoing landlady from an impoverished childhood who's determined to make passive income recruits all sorts of horrific entities to become her tenants.

My Review: Entertaining for sure. If you're a fan of comedy-horror, I think this one is a nice light read which has good enough horror art to draw the reader in. There are also hints of a "larger story" at play, involving Kaoru's parent and the occult happenings that go on around her. Kaoru is a compelling character, easygoing and understanding but not infallible and with her own dark past that the mangaka is just started to dip into. However, the side characters and rotating cast around Kaoru don't feel like they have the same level of care and investment. There are brief moments where I'm interested (there are a pair of exorcist siblings which had a sweet storyline) but overall, they fall very heavily into classic anime tropes in a way that feels cheap.

Overall: If you're looking for some entertaining horror-comedy that has some genuinely creepy moments, this is a great manga to check out on your lunch break. There is enough of an overarching story to keep the reader interested in the narrative, but I would say that it falls flat in its development of its characters and the author relies a bit too heavily on tropes.

The Banpresto Nebukuro (sleeping bag) Pikachu collection is now branching off to UFO CATCHERs (crane game prizes). Originally only available as prizes in Ichiban Kuji lotteries!

This plush is different from the last Charizard one because the zipper isn't real (the other plush were removable from the sleeping bag) & the fabric is slightly lower quality. Still plenty cute!
