ハイター「フリーレン、さっきダンジョンで見(み)つけた魔導書(まどうしょ)、『憧(あこが)れにひたれる魔法(まほう)』って、どんな魔法(まほう)なんでしょうねぇ？」

Haitā “Furīren, sakki danjon’de mitsuketa mado-sho, ‘akogare’ni hitareru maho’tte, donna maho-nan’desho-nee?”

Heiter “Frieren, what kind of spell do you think it is, the grimoire we found in the dungeon earlier, ‘a spell to immerse yourself in the world you’ve been longing for’?

<verb> 憧れる（あこがれる/Akogareru）: long for, admire

This word means that you are strongly drawn to and yearn for things or people that you admire. It’s generally used for someone or something that seems more distant and unattainable than someone or something that you simply like. It’s generally like a dream or an ideal; someone you want to become like, something you want to get, but at the same time you know it’s not easy at all.

フリーレン「そもそも憧(あこが)れに浸(ひた)るってこと自体(じたい)、私(わたし)はよくわからないんだよね。例(たと)えばみんなだったら、どういう憧(あこが)れに浸(ひた)りたいの？」

Furīren “Somo’somo akogare’ni hitarutte koto’jitai, watashi’niwa yoku wakara’nain’dayo’ne. Tatoeba minna’dattara, do-iu akogare’ni hitari’tai’no?”

Frieren “To begin with, I don’t really understand what it means to immerse yourself in a world you’ve been longing for. For example, what kind of world each of you want to immerse yourself in?”

ハイター「そうですねぇ…私(わたし)は、お酒(さけ)が飲(の)み放題(ほうだい)の世界(せかい)に浸(ひた)りたいですね」

Haitā “So-desu’nee… Watashi’wa, osake’ga nomi’ho-dai’no sekai’ni hitari’tai’desu’ne.”

Heiter “Let’s see… I want to immerse myself in a world where I can drink as much alcohol as I want.”

ヒンメル「その点(てん)、僕(ぼく)は安心(あんしん)だ。やはりこのイケメンぶりが永遠(えいえん)に語(かた)り継(つ)がれるように、僕(ぼく)の彫刻(ちょうこく)や絵画(かいが)が星(ほし)の数(かず)ほどあふれる世界(せかい)かな」

Hinmeru “Sono’ten, boku’wa anshin’da. Yahari kono ikemen’buri’ga eien’ni katari’tsugareru’yo-ni, boku’no cho-koku’ya kaiga’ga hoshi’no kazu’hodo afureru sekai’kana.”

Himmel “In my case, on the other hand, it’s something reassuring for everyone. I think it may be a world overflowing with as countless sculptures and paintings of mine as the stars so that my handsome face will be remembered forever.”

「その点、僕は安心だ」＝その点について、僕（にとっての憧れの世界）は（みんなにとって）安心だ

This sentence is very difficult for non-Japanese speakers to understand because it omits a lot. It looks like he is saying “I’m relieved,” it actually means different. He is saying “Heiter’s (desired) world worried us, but my (desired) world is reassuring, so don’t worry.”

星の数ほど（ほしのかずほど/Hoshi’no kazu’hodo）: as many as the stars in the sky, countless as the stars

アイゼン「それは、何(なに)がどう安心(あんしん)なんだ」

Aisen “Sore’wa, nani’ga do anshin’nanda.”

Eisen “What exactly is reassuring about that?”

フリーレン「まさか星(ほし)の数(かず)ほどポーズするつもり？」

Furīren “Masaka hoshi’no kazu’hodo pōzu’suru’tsumori?”

Frieren “Don’t tell me you’re going to strike as countless poses as the stars.”

ハイター「完成(かんせい)する前(まえ)に寿命(じゅみょう)が来(き)ちゃいそうです」

Haitā “Kansei’suru’mae’ni jumyo-ga kichai’so-desu.”

Heiter “It seems that he’ll run out of life before he can accomplish it.”

寿命（じゅみょう/Jumyo）: lifespan, life expectancy, longevity

アイゼン「俺(おれ)は、世界中(せかいじゅう)のブドウが全部(ぜんぶ)、すごく酸(す)っぱい世界(せかい)がいい」

Aizen “Ore’wa, sekai’ju-no budo-ga zenbu, sugoku suppai sekai’ga ii.”

Eisen “I’d like a world where all the grapes are extremely sour.”

ヒンメル「えぇ～～…」

Hinmeru “Eeeeee…”

Himmel “What?!”

ハイター「酸(す)っぱいのだけ、なんですか？」

Haitā “Suppai’no’dake, nan’desu’ka?”

Heiter “Only the sour ones?”

フリーレン「私(わたし)、甘(あま)いの食(た)べたい」

Furīren “Watashi, amai’no tabe’tai.”

Frieren “I want to eat sweet ones.”

ハイター「魔導書(まどうしょ)には、何(なん)て書(か)いてあるんですか？」

Haitā “Mado-sho’niwa, nante kaite’arun’desu’ka?”

Heiter “What does the grimoire say?”

フリーレン「そっか。えーっとね…『USJ(ユーエスジェイ)、だれもがワクワクするぼうけんができるばしょ』…？」

Furīren “Sokka. Eeetto’ne… ‘Yū’Esu’Jei, daremo’ga waku’waku’suru bo-ken’ga dekiru basho’…?”

Frieren “Right. Let’s see… ‘USJ, a place where everyone can have an exciting adventure’…?”

ヒンメル「そのUSJ(ユーエスジェイ)という場所(ばしょ)に行(い)ける魔法(まほう)ということなのか。ワクワク…いいじゃないか！難易度(なんいど)が高(たか)いダンジョンがたくさんあるかも！」

Hinmeru “Sono Yū’Esu’Jei’to’iu basho’ni ikeru maho-to iu’koto’nano’ka. Waku’waku… Ii’ja nai’ka! Nan’i’do’ga takai danjon’ga takusan aru’kamo!”

Himmel “So, it’s a spell that will take us to a place called USJ? Exciting… That’s great! There might be lots of challenging dungeons!”

ハイター「ワクワクというのは、人(ひと)によって違(ちが)いますからねぇ。誰(だれ)でもということは、それぞれがワクワクに浸(ひた)れるんでしょう」

Haitā “Waku’waku’to iu’nowa, hito’ni’yotte chigai’masu’kara’nee. Dare’demo’to iu’koto’wa, sore’zore’ga waku’waku’ni hita’rerun’desho.”

Heiter “Excitement means different things to different people. So, if it says everyone, it means that anyone can immerse themselves in their own exciting worlds.”

アイゼン「そんな冒険(ぼうけん)に浸(ひた)れるなら、俺(おれ)も大歓迎(だいかんげい)だぞ。フリーレンも、まだ見(み)つけてない憧(あこが)れに浸(ひた)れるんじゃないか？」

Aizen “Sonna bo-ken’ni hita’reru’nara, ore’mo dai’kangei’dazo. Furīren’mo, mada mitsukete’nai akogare’ni hita’rerun’ja nai’ka?”

Eisen “If I can immerse myself in such an exciting adventure, I’d welcome it. Frieren, you might also be able to immerse yourself in a world you’ve been longing for but haven’t yet found, right?”

フリーレン「そうかもね。ちょっと試(ため)しに使(つか)ってみようか」

Furīren “So-kamo’ne. Chotto tameshi’ni tsukatte’miyo-ka.”

Frieren “I see. Let’s give it a try, shall we?”

ヒンメル「よし！憧(あこが)れに浸(ひた)ろう！その場所(ばしょ)で」

Hinmeru “Yoshi! Akogare’ni hitaro! Sono basho’de.”

Himmel “Okay! Let’s soak in the world where we’ve been longing for! “

フリーレン「うん。じゃあ行(い)くよ」

Frieren “Yeah, here we go.”
