Why does the Limaid bloodline wears a veil?

To Symbolize secrets. Could be hiding blood color, a mutation, identity. Usually the veils are lighter colors to bring ease and that it's just a little white lie or small secret, maybe even something something purity. Darker veils mean threats and mourning, so even though Nebula considers it a sign of rebellion against her family she's actually following right along the predetermined path.
