Can you explain the Stark beard process to me? My beard never looks as good as yours. D; SHARE YOUR WISDOM.

Yo listen up that’s the story about a little girl that likes to glue hair to her face~

okay okay, so first: I’m too lazy to put on another beard and show it step by step because it’s a fucking pain in the ass to put on the Stark beard and if I do it very carefully I need up to two hours for this (like yesterday) so I’ll just try to explain my way.

okay so you need dis:

That’s hair (wohooo Captain Obvious) cut into very small pieces and Mastix (skin glue, you can find this on ebay). You can use your own hair or wig hair, whatever you like better. That’s my own hair because I cosplay Tony with my own hair now so it’s just the color I need. I used to use wig hair tho so both works just fine.

That was pretty easy now, wasn’t it? Okay, so now shit gets real. 

I usually start with the moustache. I take a bit from my hair-pile and form it the way I want to apply the glue on my skin — be sure to apply it ‘step by step’ — first one side - hair, then the other - hair, and then the middle - hair. Cut overlapping hairs with small scissors. 

Then I usually do the chin part + the however-you-call-them-you-know-what-I-mean-Stark-things… this part can be kinda tricky because you have to make sure to make them symmetric and “pointy". It will get easier and neater with practice.

That’s my very first try a year ago vs my beard today+yesterday, which even survived sleeping and a lot of laughing and eating and even washing my hair! (as I said, it’s a pain in the ass to put it on so I rather sleep with the beard on. Much more comfortable orz)

Okay, back to business. If you are cosplaying the IM1/2/Avengers version of Tony, you are done here. Don’t forget to cut the hair which is sticking out. You can use some hair spray + a hair dryer to fix the hair, but it’s not really necessary (I recommend it tho).

Pro tip: Use some lip balm before spraying hair spray on your moustache, because you will always get some hair spray on your lips orz. (My) lips tend to dry out when I wear a beard, so better carry lip balm with you. :’D

If you cosplay the IM3 version you still have some work to do. But just do what you did before and you should be fine.

Another pro tip: You won’t be able to move your mouth/chin very much, so speaking (especially laughing) and eating will be rather difficult. Always take some straws with you to be able to drink without leaving hair in your bottle. Cutting your food into small thin pieces will also make eating much easier.

I hope that helped you. I described this as a annoying, uncomfortable procedure (which it is haha) but it’s all worth it. C:
