Honestly, it was really fun drawing this, i used a brush i hadn't used before and learnt a lot with observing how you draw your lines, creases, folds, etc!
It has been a while since i drew ruffles, mostly because i draw often only DS Nightmare lol, but it was enjoyable nonetheless!!

Okay but no seriously it is a big part to play in how I portray Dream. I know ppl like to make him likeee kinda naive and all that stuff. Which i get!! A lot of times, Dream in a mainly Nightmare centric story is HORRENDOUS and it is often like that for Nightmare sympathy points. Like ohhh noooo look at the babyyy :( he had a very bad childhood AND his brother is a douche!!!

Okay more on Dreams I don't like!! I don't particularly like the take of Dream moving on. Like GENUINELY moving on from his once loving relationship with Nightmare
You can't deny that Nightmare was his first love (be that platonic or romantic) and that is.. a hard thing to move past. Nightmare was once his whole world, and to an extent? He always will be. Even if it's.. shifted. Dream could act like he's moved on and maybe he has from when he was first released but deep deep down there's just this desire, this intense craving, for what he and his brother once had again
Dream upholds himself on those past memories, thrives of them even. It's part of the reason he will always have a hope for peace between him and his twin, even if the expectation isn't there. He'd help Nightmare any time, at the drop of a hat. Especially if it was genuine
Dream can't hate people, especially not Nightmare.
There's also the more sibling 'i hate you' takes of Dream and Nightmare and yk i get it but im very in my own delulu where it's like, they won't do that :( they kissy kiss :(
I genuinely don't think either Dream or passive Nightmare would ever have that 'full' sibling energy of hating each other. You might get it with post apple trauma but i still don't prefer it! Valid take of em tho
Dream is a very adorable little guy and no one fight me on that. I'd say Nightmare will always agree even if he doesn't admit it bc the man is abt as expressive as a piece of gum
Also firm believer in Dream comparing everyone in his life to past Nightmare. If they do something that reminds Dream of him, or Dream just automatically thinks that Nighty would be better in any given situation. Even if Nightmare wouldn't actually be better in the situation, it's just that wish that he was..
Yeah basically Dream in my eyes is very sweet, and very brother obsessed. And really, isn't that just canon?

I'm going to be so for real with you, it's all from Naruto fanfiction back in the 2010s. Specifically blackkat's style, they're soooo good. They don't write Naruto anymore, but I've read some of their new stuff and still love it even if I have no clue what's going on.

swad definitely looks like a pompous fluffy rich boy so that he looks more unassuming and can get into biting range.
it's like what is that... the animal... thing? animal adaptation to look flashy and pretty for mates, but doubles as poison? that is totally wrong but i think that's him. anyway he is like an oversized pommeranian to me
