Trees
In my back yard there are two nectarine trees that my mom and dad planted.
And every year around this time they bloom beautifully.
Every year I watch them, knowing that their delicate flowers will only last a while and that soon the wind will blow them away and the grass will be covered in pink petals.
Every year I wish that I could stop time and somehow make it so that those trees are blooming forever.
This year I am not there to see them start blooming.
But perhaps when I arrive home they will be at their most lovely and the sight of them will welcome me back.
