Notes: For anyone that might not know who Ned is, and maybe you are reading this because you just love Lee Pace (because who doesn’t). Ned is from the show Pushing Daisies, which is a very odd show, but also very good. So of course it was canceled after two seasons -_-
Also, Ned’s “gift” mentioned is that he can bring someone back to life by touching them. But they can only stay “awake” for 1 minute, otherwise another being with a similar “life value”, nearby, dies. And once someone is touched and re-awakened, it can only happen once.

❁ When you and Ned first met he had *heart eyes* immediatley
❁ So of course he was super shy, cute, and awkward af around you for a while at first
❁ But because you were really chill and nice, you got along instantly
❁ Of course you couldn’t help but find him adorable
❁ Trips to The Pie Hole became often, which he was super excited about
❁ You said you couldn’t get enough of his pies, but in reality, though his pies were really good, it was more accurate that you couldn’t get enough of his face
❁ You met Emerson soon after, and he could see the sparks between you
❁ But because he’s Emerson he didn’t really say much
❁ But Ned did not miss his somewhat judgmental looks when Ned would fail at keeping a conversation with you
❁ But Emerson liked you, and he thought that you and Ned would make a pretty good pair, though he wouldn’t say it out loud
❁ Anyways
❁ At some point Ned found out that you occasionally bake at your home, and his heart eyes for you grew in size
❁ Like, you were perfect
❁ And then things changed when you ended up finding out about Ned’s “gift”
❁ Somehow you got caught up in one of Ned and Emerson’s cases
❁ Ned was terrified you would be scared of him, or grossed out
❁ But in reality you were fascinated, and told Ned that you were proud that he found a way to use his gift for good
❁ This incident ended up with you becoming a part of the “team” and helping Emerson and Ned solve crimes when needed
First Kiss
❁ You had known Ned for a few months now, and had been working with him and Emerson for just over one month
❁ You and Ned still danced around your feelings for one another
❁ Which annoyed the hell out of Emerson honestly
❁ There was one particularly hard and dangerous case however, in which you got hurt
❁ Not too badly, but it required a night’s stay in the hospital
❁ When Ned picked you up and drove you home you could tell he was off
❁ Whether he was angry, guilty, sad, you didn’t know, you just knew he was avoiding your gaze
❁ He took you to The Pie Hole and made you something to eat, all the while he was remaining somewhat distant
❁ “Are you mad at me?” you questioned quietly, after he had slid you a drink, sitting on the stool beside you
❁ His eyes shot up and met yours, surprise filling them as realization hit that the way he was acting must be confusing you
❁ Letting out a small sigh he shook his head “No, I’m not mad at you Y/n, I’m mad at myself for getting you into this”
❁ You reached out and placed your hand on top of his “I’m the one that stayed and joining in on this in the first place Ned, I don’t blame you. Besides you are the one who ended up saving me in the end”
❁ His eyes met yours again as you saw the nervousness in your eyes as he took your hand in his, you tried your best to ignore your own pounding heart
❁ “I-” he paused “I just don’t want to see you get hurt”
❁ You smiled gently at him “I know Ned. And you know I feel the same about you too right?”
❁ He stared at you, knowing that the true confession behind his words was being reciprocated in your own
❁ His eyes glanced quickly down to your lips
❁ A motion you had seen a few times as you spoke in the recent past
❁ “I’m going to keep you safe” his voice was almost a whisper as he met your eyes again, a passion behind them
❁ As you smiled at him, he leaned forward, hesitating for a brief moment before you leaned forward as well, your lips meeting
❁ The kiss lingered as Ned’s hand found the side of your face, his other hand still gripping yours
❁ Your free hand was placed gently on his chest
❁ When pulling away from the long, yet gentle kiss, Ned sheepishly smiled at you which you returned, before he leaned in to kiss you again, this time a bit more fervently than before.
Dating
❁ When you and Ned brought up to Emerson that you were now dating, he let out a loud sigh
❁ “It’s about damn time! I was getting tired of the two of you dancing around each other like a pair of shy hormonal teenagers at the prom. I was about this close to throwing you two into a closet to figure it out”
❁ Needless to say he was relieved
❁ But seeing you two together made him very very happy, but he would never say that out loud
❁ Not until your wedding day, when he cried like a baby at the reception and during his speech
❁ You and Ned are the cutest couple, it’s almost gross
❁ Kisses, all the time. His favorite is coming up behind you and placing a kiss on the top of your head (bc he’s tall af), and then when you turn to look at him he quickly kisses you on the lips and/or cheek.
❁ Cuddles, all the time. Lying on the couch, or bed, he loves having his arms wrapped around you. He is the best big spoon, it’s like being enveloped by a large blanket.
❁ Laughing, you guessed it, all the time. Ned is a d o r k, and he is also pretty cute and funny, so you two make each other laugh all the time.
❁ And yes, there is sex, all the time
❁ I wont go into too much detail, but I will say, Ned = dork in the streets, freak in the sheets.
❁ He would bring you random gifts a lot, though they were almost always something the two of you could share together: food, candy, movies, books, etc..
❁ Eventually you ended up working part time at The Pie Hole and helping Ned to bake, or serve the customers.
❁ He even made a new pie recipe that included a bunch of your favorite ingredients and spices
❁ Of course he named it after you, and it quickly became a customer favorite
❁ Working with Emerson can get dangerous sometimes, but you and Ned ar always there for each other and constantly get each other out of harms way
❁ A dangerous case always ends with the two of you cuddling, a movie playing, and a bunch of comfort food, especially if one of you got hurt
❁ Ned is very protective over you
❁ He may be tall, but he is not aggressive and certainly not intimidating
❁ But if you are ever in danger, a different side of him comes out
❁ It’s kind of hot honestly
❁ Anyways...
❁ Your’s and Ned’s relationship is fantastic
❁ And though you may argue sometimes, or maybe disagree over some stuff, the two of you are the best team, and couple goals to anyone who knows you
Headcanons: Christmas getaway with Ned (Pushing Daisies)

-The getaway would last about a week
-You probably went to another state that neither of you had visited before
-Ned would have rented a small cabin like house just outside of the town for you two to stay in
-He would have surprised you with it, previously telling you that you would be staying in a hotel room
-You would spend most of the days walking around a small town hand in hand, trying new foods and meeting new people
-You and Ned would plan a bunch of things to do like; Ice-skating at the local ice rink, museum walk, breakfast lunch and dinner at different spots, etc.
-On Christmas day you would spend it at the cabin, relaxing next to the fire, opening the presents you had gotten for one another
-On one of the days, you would convince Ned to go on a hike with you through the nearby forest
-He would protest at first but the second you gave him your puppy dog eyes he would melt and say yes
-Every older couple you met would tell you how cute you two looked together, almost all of them commenting on the obvious height difference
-You would some how end up at a pie shop and Ned would order almost every type of pie
-He would say that it was because he wanted to get new ideas
-But you knew it was because he missed eating pie, since he couldn’t eat the ones he made
-The getaway would go by quicker than you wanted but it was great nonetheless
-You would spend your last day going souvenir shopping and taking one last look at the sights
-You would be happy to be home, but it wouldn’t take long before you and Ned would already begin planning your next trip
