werewolf story questions
maybe gonna make my own personal werewolf fanfiction for myself, but random questions I have before I start writing -
Does it need to be a wolf? I know the whole point of a werewolf story is that you’re turning into a wolf/your half wolf, but is it needed? Like can I choose a different animal? I like keeping my stories true to the original media, but werewolf stories get kinda boring when you hear about the same animal features, instincts, and stuff like that over and over again.
I have never watched any actual werewolf movies (only YouTube media lol) so what are some tropes I should look out for so I don’t accidentally copy any movies too much

I’ll probably edit this more if I have anymore questions, but other than that this is all I got. I have never written anything ever (other than for school) and I’m more of a drawing/comic person. So I might make this a comic instead, idk. PLEASE HELP ME OUT
