A faded light

A shadow bound with woven leash My footsteps fall behind you Icy grooves in medow moss A frosted smile I once knew

A warmth I horded with hopeful breath You might see through my visage But your eyes only see translucent My desire remains a dusk cage

I offer my hand in kindness To never let you sprawl I only hoped you would take hold And never let it fall

We sat with whispered words Of troubles and true joys Though I hold words behind my tongue In hopes you would see my ploy

words unspoken turn to dread And shackle in shadow once more I overt my gaze from beauties light Her smile is more than I can endure

Her kindness is more then I deserve But still pure desire consumes me I will only wish for her happiness As I turn to faded memory
