{| has there / could there ever be a situation where a wuju master Alpha Strikes but... doesn't re-materialise?
Yess! Another Post on Alpha Strike Mechanics at Least Somewhat Related to the Question!
//If the Wuju practitioner tried to Alpha Strike through something with magic absorbing properties, then they would most definitely not appear afterwards, and from their perspective they would literally just meet a painless, formless death.
But that’s never the way it works. The Alpha Strike is a dangerous maneuver that can and has killed even historical Wuju Masters in the past. Though immaterial during its duration, every action taken during the Strike is tallied up and accounted for, and the effects of that action are applied when the Strike is done. For instance, if you use the Alpha Strike to move from one place to another, your feet may still feel as if they have run the maximum twenty-four meters (seventy-nine feet) of a four chain Alpha Strike.
(MATH EDIT: And then I remember in theory the maximum length of an Alpha Strike is forty-eight meters - one hundred and fifty seven feet - if the target that Yi Strikes to dies, then he goes on to Strike three more targets at optimal distance from one another. Then he has to travel the same distance back because if the target of a Strike dies, then it spits you back out at the origin of the Strike. This means, roughly at maximum, Yi can potentially travel at around 143 miles per hour, or 230 kilometers. Terminal velocity is 122 miles, and the best source Wikipedia says that the fastest roller coaster in the world can launch to 150 miles.)
However, if you were to plunge your sword into someone, then imagine it from a more realistic perspective. Imagine a human being being thrown at someone at speeds so fast they become a blur, and then them coming to a complete x miles to zero, in zero seconds, stop. You break your arms off is what happens, if the force of it doesn’t immediately turn you into a fine red mist that sprays all over your opponent.
There is an acceleration debt that all Wuju practitioners must take into account. This is why Yi relegates the Alpha Strike to a situational teleport ability, rather than something used to harm. He cannot afford to lose an arm just because he took, or thought, a single misstep. (also because the Alpha Strike is waaay too OP out of game and I needed to nerf it)
But Yi Mun! Someone asks probably, He’s going to come to a sudden stop regardless. Why does it matter if he’s stabbing someone or not?? To which I say… that is fair. If you suspend your disbelief a bit I think it does make sense though. Think of it like I’ve said. You have to pay an acceleration debt in order to use the Strike. So if the actions you do during the Strike can happen within the Strike, and then bring Yi back to the same state of acceleration after it is done, then it is fine. If he is still accelerating when the Strike is done, then its not fine. So going from standing, to standing somewhere else is fine, but going from standing to half way through cutting off someone’s head will break both your arms off.
I could rant about the Alpha Strike all day really. It has a lot of potential. But yeah, if you see a Wuju practitioner failing a Strike, you don’t get to be spared from it by them simply never showing up again. You get to see a body as if it had hit the ground from height, or just a rain of Wuju blood. Good stuff, right?
Girlfriend OP, Needs Nerf
So today my girlfriend decided to start playing League of Legends with me xD She's currently on a massive win streak as MF and has been playing for 5 hours now xP Even after I stopped playing she kept going X)
