@dencuement
“I’m sorry to bother you,” Rita began, in a tone both apologetic and friendly. “But if I don’t get a decent cup of coffee soon I’m going to stop functioning as a person, and I don’t know this area well at all.”
She laughed a little - self-deprecating rather than self-conscious. “If you could recommend somewhere, or even just point me in vaguely the right direction, I’d be really grateful.”

She’d entered the store intending for it to be a very quick visit - the first errand to tick off that days list, although admittedly one of the nicer ones. That was why she’d decided to head to the florist first, in fact; it was much a much more encouraging thought to be leaving home this early to do something pleasant, especially when another of that day’s errands was going to be chasing up an invoice from one of her freelancing positions.
But she’d got distracted (of course) almost as soon as she’d set foot in the building. Her attention was first caught by the bright display of flowers inside the window and then, as she turned, to the large and unusual plant taking pride of place inside the store - which, she realised, she’d seen in the paper a few days previously. It probably spoke volumes about how crazy things were at the moment that she hadn’t even realised which florist she’d found herself heading inside.
It was only when she’d taken a couple of steps towards it that she realised someone had walked out from the back of the store, jumping out of her skin as she realised she wasn’t alone.
“Oh, I’m sorry! I didn’t even notice there was anyone else in here.” She was laughing at herself, but her amusement quickly settled into an apologetic grin. “I was looking to get some tulips, but I got distracted - although I'm sure most people have the same problem."
@destinymade liked for a starter!
“Hey, it’s pretty busy in here,” Rita had noticed them when they’d come to a stop near her, and a glance had told her they were probably scanning the coffee shop for an empty table. Her tone was friendly, her smile kind enough even as she looked away from them to move some of her papers off one half of the table.
“You’re more than welcome to sit here, if you like? I don’t mind.”
@almostdisaster
“You’re the one who made these?” Rita’s tone was of the sort that should largely be reserved for asking people about the incredible feats they’d performed. As it was, she happened to be addressing the woman who had apparently baked the sticky bun she’d just been eating with something close to reverence; although as far as Rita was concerned, perfect baking certainly ranked as an incredible feat.
“They’re absolutely incredible. I could eat all of them.” She added with an easy, warm grin.
OCTOBER 16TH :: HEADCANON :: Does your character enjoy cuddling? If so, do they like cuddling with other people or prefer to just snuggle up with a blanket alone? Who do they prefer to cuddle with? How long can they last before they need space again?
NOTE :: I was originally gonna move between verses for these prompts, but then I decided to stick with canon (largely to challenge myself a little, because of some of them seemed to fit with AUs a little better at first and I wanted to make myself think a bit more!).
These headcanons are general canon with a bit of a post-canon lean, and this is 200 words long. Please don’t reblog this!
OCTOBER 14TH :: HEADCANON :: Does your character celebrate Thanksgiving? If so, how big is the celebration and how does it generally go?
NOTE :: I was originally gonna move between verses for these prompts, but then I decided to stick with canon (largely to challenge myself a little, because of some of them seemed to fit with AUs a little better at first and I wanted to make myself think a bit more!).
These are general canon headcanons, and it is about 200 words long (but could’ve been much longer; Rita loves occasions that mean she gets to spend time with her family! Please don’t reblog this!
