Heey that Lupe Fiasco video you reblogged is actually really offensive/problematic, especially with the commentary you reblogged it with apparently cosigning? "Redeeming rap" doesn't need to happen. The blackface in his video is not okay regardless of him being black. It's also pretty misogynistic. It's kind of just a video of internalized black hatred.

I also didn't like that comment about "redeeming rap" but I should have made a comment to that effect, I'm sorry. =(

I had heard other opinions from black friends of mine who were mentioning the video on Facebook, (which is why I reblogged their linked post) Of course, it's not my place to say if  the message is problematic or accurate, since it's not my struggle.  I am interested in seeing further discussion about the video, but I'll take it off my blog.  Sorry if it was offensive or triggering.
