Re: the MKB AU, or also just in general, I'm curious about what kind of read you're giving to Mothiva. The vibe I get suggests she does genuinely (at least somewhat) care about Vi's well being despite obvious complications, and she generally comes off as not that bad. Is this an intended thing (and if so will it continue), or a "I want to see Mothiva not be terrible for once in her life" thing?

how i think about mothiva is like this, if we ONLY saw vi from an outside POV, ie we did not know her backstory or motives, would she still be a likable character? or would she come off very similar to mothiva?

They are both loud, arrogant, greedy, and antagonistic towards others they deem competition. They're rude to their companions. neither's main reason for becoming an explorer seems to be actually helping people, but rather fame and fortune. they can both be very unintentionally cruel, and tend to prioritize their own success over the feelings or goals of others.

BUT we know that Vi is an insecure teenager who's rude and brash because she fears rejection of her personality and goals. We know she seeks validation through exploring cause its something she KNEW she would be good at, and she wanted to prove everyone who told her she wouldnt succeed wrong. We know she wants lots of money because she fears having her choices taken from her, and money paves the way for a hell of a lot of freedom. And so on and so forth

We don't know mothiva logic or backstory, but is that any reason to believe that there is no deeper meaning to her actions? is not she too, capable of being a complex character?
