Kaleb had never been a fan of these high society events--ever since he'd first been adopted by Cat. The number of people put him on edge, the amount of egos and holier than tho airs making his skin crawl. But the man did know the importance of them. The donations always helped those in need, the information given always important to making society better. That knowledge however still didn't make it easy.
The blond over the years had more than perfected his charming smile and faux interest in what those around him said. An excuse always ready to disappear back into the crowd or a dark corner of the bar. Tonight was no different.
Kaleb's eyes scanned the crowd to see if he could find someone he knew to get out of this conversation with the mayor. Sure, his mother wouldn't exactly be pleased that he was running--but really there was only so much drabble he could handle from the pampas man. If he didn't get out of this, he would say something he'd later regret.
Luck almost seemed to be on his side as Kaleb spotted someone he hadn't seen in possibly years. A genuine smile crossed his lips, an escape and better company. "I'm sorry, if you'll excuse me, I just saw someone I need to speak with before I lose her in the crowd." Without waiting for a response the Grant was off.
Grabbing two new flutes of champagne, Kaleb easily made his way through the crowd. Nodding and acknowledging people that he needed to until he reached her side. "Well, well...Fallon Carrington...aren't you a sight?" The blond teases with a true warm smile, one so few see, as he offers up one of the flutes. "I had no idea you were going to be in town or even here this evening.
"I don't think I've ever been more thankful for a surprise in my life."
