GRRM's interview

Just saw GRRM's interview where he reveals he had planned a more tragic end for Tyrion (ouch) and that he planned to kill Sansa but because she was "appealing" in the show he "might let her live".

I don't think that confirms anything either way on Sansa's survival, but if we consider the timelines of the book and the series, that does mean that everything GRRM wrote in the books was with the intent of her dying. Which confirms all that "foreshadowing" Jonsas/Sansa stans saw for QITN Sansa and Jon and Sansa marrying was all in their head (which we already knew tbf)

I'm surprised you don't see appeal of Jonsa, is it simply because of its fans? Or because it's incestuous?

no, the reason I don't see the appeal is because so far their relationship is basically non-existent. they are siblings who grew up in the same environment but they barely spare any thought on each other. specially sansa. she's one of the major pov characters in four thick books and yet she vaguely remembers jon a total of three times (I counted!), and in one of those times (affc, alayne II) she was basically prompted by a stranger into remembering that he was still alive. see how relevant he is to her? his existence does not occupy space in her mind lol this is why they used to be classified as crackship. this is why their shippers resort to stealing stuff from other relationships because jon x sansa have no canon material of their own. the only reason this ship is so popular now is due to the show because prior to 2016 no one wasted a serious thought on them.

I wouldn't have anything against Jonsa shippers (because to each their own, if you vibe with it, you vibe with it) if they weren't so violently misogynistic towards Arya and Dany, stole from them, and completely disregarded Jon's and Sansa's real characteritazion to make their ship seem canon.

In five books, Jon rarely thinks about Sansa, yet he's always thinking about Arya.

He broke his vows for Arya.

He went to war for Arya.

He died for Arya.

But, yeah, sure, he's going to end up with the one he doesn't even think about.

For much as I enjoy (Book) Jon Snow, I don't get it how Jonsa stans looks to declared him as Sansa's true knight when she have already one true knight searching for her, and her name is Lady Brienne of Tarth.

This has to be one of the most illogical arguments I've ever seen. If anything, people ship Jonsa because they hate Arya; they steal all the Jonrya content and replace "Arya" with "Sansa" and think they have a canon-based ship. Jonrya has far more canonical merit than Jonsa does.

Besides that, what does Sansa have to do with Jonrya? Jon is always thinking about Arya, and Arya is always thinking about Jon. Jon compares all his love interests to Arya, and Arya compares her love interest to Jon. Jon is always hoping to find and save Arya, and Arya is always trying to get to the Wall to be with Jon. Jon broke his vows for Arya, and Arya technically broke her vows for Jon since she killed a deserter of the Night's Watch for Jon. Jon prepared to go to war over Arya. Jon died for Arya. Jon's dying thought was of Arya. Notice how Sansa was never mentioned? She's irrelevant to the Jonrya ship.
