Random Thoughts about Negative Speech
I haven’t realized how poisonous my speech was until I actually tried to stop myself once. It almost makes everything I do a self-fulfilling prophecy.I’m going to start intentionally speaking good things. Maybe I’ll avoid complaining so much on my blog too.
Why are we so fast to let negative remarks come out, but neglect to let the positive ones come out?
“You learn far more from negative leadership than from positive leadership. Because you learn how not to do it. And, therefore, you learn how to do it.” ― Norman Schwarzkopf
Internet Arguments
What's the point of confronting someone you don't have a relationship with about something you don't agree about? It's senseless. They don't care what you have to say because you aren't important in their life. Why even bother worrying about what they think in the first place? It all just seems like a way to spread strife and unnecessary negative emotions.
This is why I don't understand arguing with people you don't really know over the internet. I think the age old adage, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" really covers this situation quite well.
Also, it doesn't happen often that a person's strong opinion changes because they "lose" an argument... especially with someone who is a stranger.
Negative conversation or speech doesn't translate into positive influence.
You'll never be brave if you don't get hurt. You'll never learn if you don't commit mistakes. You'll never be successful if you don't encounter failure. Negative result doesn't mean it will always happen again. Because we will always start from the ground just to appreciate our way to the top.
In Reverse:
When I was younger, no one told me things would get better. Instead, everyone was constantly reminding me to suck things up because life would only get harder as I grew up. I hated that, and it damaged me more than anything. Imagine, from an early age, no one saying things would be better. Imagine having everyone push you towards the fast lane when you were trying to slow down. Imagine everyone saying it would all be worse one day. Seems cruel, doesn't it?
Well, the reality of it is, things only get worse if you focus on that alone. I'm here, telling you things get better. I'm saying that if you focus on the how hard things will get instead of how simple and easy it could all be, the fact of the matter is that it will get hard. Everything will speed up, and the faster it gets, the harder it'll be to slow down. So, with that in mind, take some time to just relax. Breathe. Feel the calm consume you. Count to ten. Breathe.
Things will get better if you think positively, no matter the situation. Things will get better if you make it so. You are in control, no one else. This is the key to happiness. This is the key to life.
