To be totally honest, I think "Really? That's funny/odd, I have never...." is one of the most annoying and possibly passive aggressive things you can say. I don't think I've ever heard it used outside internet conversations. And maybe it's just the way the internet doesn't convey tones in a conversation very well and it isn't often meant to mean anything but I get an immediate negative reaction to the person who says it.

I don't know when to end conversations over the internet but whenever I do I feel annoying and inadequate

The name of my book would be, The Sounds of a Story. Someone's note inside...? 'I've spent my late night strolls listening to commas and pausing for meaning.'

Internet Arguments

What's the point of confronting someone you don't have a relationship with about something you don't agree about?  It's senseless.  They don't care what you have to say because you aren't important in their life.  Why even bother worrying about what they think in the first place?  It all just seems like a way to spread strife and unnecessary negative emotions.  

This is why I don't understand arguing with people you don't really know over the internet.  I think the age old adage, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" really covers this situation quite well. 

Also, it doesn't happen often that a person's strong opinion changes because they "lose" an argument... especially with someone who is a stranger.

Negative conversation or speech doesn't translate into positive influence.
