idk if it counts as theater kid core but hadestown is a pretty good reinterpretation of the story of eurydice and orpheus. I may be biased tho cause im a sucker for myths.

ah man i wish i could give you a straight answer on that one. there’s been plenty of cowboy characters in the past (bob orton, stan hansen, the blackjacks) and plenty of beer-swilling rowdy rednecks (stone cold steve austin, bradshaw), but i’m not sure there’s a lot like him right now!

so, link, right

link is a silent protagonist, yeah? and in most games, especially the early ones, he’s kinda a blank slate. arguably just a player avatar. but the game manuals use he/him pronouns, and npcs use he/him pronouns, and so everyone uses he/him for link. even though he’s never directly stated HEY I USE HE/HIM LOL. nobody argues his gender is ambiguous (ignoring the occasional discussion of Hylian sexual dimorphism). nobody goes “well, canon doesn’t give firm answers, so I can use whatever pronouns and treat them like they’re canon”.

same goes for samus. for the pokemon protagonists. for a whole bunch of characters that are Blank Slate Character Insert but that use he/him or she/her pronouns. there might be some discussion of specifics, but it’s accepted that the pronouns the npcs use for the character are the character’s pronouns and, in Default Canon-Compliant Fic and Fic That Isn’t About Gender, those pronouns will be used.

think about that for a bit and then if you still have questions i’ll start on “hey there are like 6 nonbinary characters and like 4 of them are in undertale so maybe consider not taking them away”

I'd say that the main reason why people don't like the beard is that Taako is described pretty often as "ethereally feminine" and beards are mainly masculine. I don't think it has much to do with the archetype of an elf, as much as the small amount of detail we do have on his appearance. That being said, I do like your Taako design, and would totally buy it if i saw it at a con.

I remember being a bit confused about the whole feminine thing because even though I do zone out while listening, I didn’t catch any reference to it. The first i really caught was that he wanted to wear a skirt at the start of Eleventh Hour... which is episode 41... and my ideas on what these characters looked like was pretty settled midway through episode 1. 

But yeah idk. I’ve never seen beards as being masculine. Know plenty of femme guys, non binary, gender fluid and even women rocking them. It’s just something some people have. TBH, I associate the kind of high femme idea with people who take a lot of care in their appearance, with perfectly arranged clothes and make up and jewelry and I read Taako as very much low maintenance, impulsive, un-carring in appearance... sleeping in a ditch type. So the Taakos that look like an instagram fashionista don’t really ring true to the type of character I listen to. And once again so people don’t get mad: that’s cool and valid and I’m kinda jealous I don’t naturally read him that way.

In regards to life is strange, the a large part of the "charm" of the game comes from it being super cheesy, much in the way that Until Dawn used over the top dialogue. Then again, the ending was pretty disappointing so not sure if you SHOULD even get into it. Maybe give it another chance though ;D

To be fair, Until Dawn is actually phenomenal, and the writing is cheesy, but clearly has purpose. The cheesiness is just an homage to 80′s and 90′s slasher films. In Life is Strange, it just seems like bad writing. But I DID buy it a while back for $5 (all episodes) on sale, so I guess I have no excuse not to finish it.

2. What's your favorite book and why?

I'm not sure, but I think it would be a tie between Ruth and Galatians from the Bible because I love the story of friendship and loyalty in Ruth and the words of encouragement in Galatians. I especially love that, in Galatians, Paul makes sure to mention that, under Jesus, everyone is equal. He says that there is neither free man nor slave, neither man nor woman, because they're all equal in God's eyes and under God. 

3. What do you admire most about yourself?

I guess I really like my eyes- not my eyesight because that sucks I mean my eye color which is dark hazel most of the time. They can go to brown in certain light and are more brown when other people see them because I see my eyes in the mirror and they see them in normal light. 

4. What's your best friend like? 

Kelsey is amazing and I love her. I talk about her so much but I see her so little and we just get along so well. We enjoy a lot of the same things, such as Disney, singing, archery, failing at sports, talking, etc. We're both fairly lazy, so we don't do very much in general except sing almost constantly and we always have fun together and we have hilarious and deep conversations. To me she's just perfect.

(if we're talking about clothes) Unique and unusual mismatched fandoms.

Everything. Soundtracks, rock, classic rock, old pop music, rock and roll, classical, oldies, pop, punk, metal, etc. 

9. Do you prefer hanging out with friends or a night in?

My nights are usually in and I don't get to see most of my friends very often, so given the choice, hang out with friends.

No (I'm 15 so not many places are hiring)

I heard some of my youtubers talking about it, like the vlogbrothers, and I had heard that two of my obsessions at the time (Doctor Who and Sherlock, which I clearly still enjoy) were big on the site so I made an account. I've been on for 2 1/2 years now.
