REPENTANCE 🙏 | DERIVED FROM SUFI MASTER @YOUNUS_ALGOHAR'S SPEECH ON @ALRATV⁣ ⁣ Q: How does one know if his repentance has been accepted by God?⁣ ⁣ Repentance is in actuality to purify and cleanse the Lower Self. It means to return to God.⁣ ⁣ Repenting does not mean to say to God, 'I repent'. It is not just about using this word or making a verbal promise to God that you will not do it again. It is not about telling God that you promise you won't do it again only to repeat the mistake sometime later. ⁣ ⁣ Repentance is actually an action taken by you to purify your Lower Self.⁣ ⁣ When divine energy is provided to the Commanding Self (Nafs e Ammrah), blameworthiness is introduced to the Lower Self. When this happens, every time you sin, you will automatically have feelings of remorse in you without being told off by anybody. This is the act of repentance.⁣ ⁣ So repenting is pretty much an esoteric occurrence.⁣

Out of the seven subtleties in the body, the Lower Self (Negative Psyche) is the soul that runs on negativity. As a Sufi, the first and foremost thing is the cleansing of the Negative Psyche.⁣ ⁣⁣ The method of purifying the Lower Self is, fundamentally, to switch its diet from negative energy to positive energy with the help of a Sufi Master.⁣ ⁣ There are four main stages of the Lower Self. ⁣ ⁣ 1 -🐕 The Commanding Self (Nafs-e-Ammarah): you feel happy when you hurt or insult others. The Lower Self creates an impulse in you to do as it commands. The impulse is imperative and you are obedient to it. ⁣

2 - 🐎🐂 The Regretful Self (Nafs-e-Lawamma): once the Lower Self begins to absorb divine energy, the negative impulse is weakened. Now when you do something wrong, you feel remorse instantly. It’s esoteric form is a bull or horse depending on the temperament of your Lower Self.⁣ ⁣ 3 - 🐐 The Inspired Self (Nafs-e-Ilhama): at this stage, the vessel of the Lower Self is almost completely filled with positive energy. You no longer feel inclined to do anything unbefitting of a Sufi. Every time you are about to do something wrong, the Sufi Master sends you a spiritual message advising you not to. At this point, the Lower Self is purified. Now, you must maintain its purity.⁣ ⁣ 4 - 🧍The Divinely Contented Self (Nafs-e-Mutmaina): The Inspired Self is the last stage for a majority of Sufis. When God decides to formally appoint you as one of his friends, then theophanies of God start to fall on your heart and Lower Self which convert it to the Divinely Contented Self. Once it turns into a Divinely Contented Self, the maintenance of its purity is taken care of by God himself. In this final form, the Lower Self takes on your appearance. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣
