What could be greater than sacrificing your whole being? To surrender all control willingly to someone else. To be tired of trying to make the world a better place and failing. To be tired of not being understood; not even by your mentor. To be tired of living in a nightmare; day and night.

And to be afraid of being alone.

This was the moment when Basim stepped aside and Loki took over. Nothing shakes me to my core like that brief pause Basim made before reaching out his hand to Nehal.

So I'm currently going through my mirage screenshots to see if I have anything good to share and

There is no way Nehal is literally just a hallucination for Basim because he speaks to her IN FRONT OF PEOPLE and NO ONE questions him supposedly talking to thin air.

Bonus: not my image (it was taken from Enkidu's fandom wiki page), but Enkidu, while being a bird, also sees Nehal. Even as a bird with a "animals can see ghosts" kind of spiel, animals cannot see their owners' hallucinations. In the cutscene Enkidu clearly is at least implied to see Nehal and immediately dislike her for the same reasons he dislikes endgame Basim.

I'm more inclined to believe that Nehal is an actual more or less physical manifestation of Loki or whatever Loki genes Basim has, even if it just goes far enough that people can see but not everyone can, for example, touch her. Whether the actual Mirage ending (which I have yet to play) disagrees with that, I'll have to wait and see.

Game: Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Mirage

Character/love line: Basim ibn Ishaq x OC/Reader

OC/Reader is a resident of Baghdad/Raventhorpe, a simple girl. She meets Basim when he is already Invisible and both personalities already live in him, that is, he himself and Loki. Something in Basim tells him that the OC/Reader is unusual, because somehow she attracts him.

It turns out that she is the human reincarnation of Sigyn (Loki's wife, she is Asgardian). According to mythology, she was very loved and faithful to her husband, even the poison that was supposed to drip onto Loki, she always collected and poured out so that Loki would not suffer.

By the way, Loki loved Angrboda and Sigyn equally, it's just that Angrboda was more of a companion, and Sigyn was a kindred spirit, or something like that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

However, the OC/Reader is unaware of the fact that she is reincarnated, as Sigyn has blocked her own memories so as not to recall them in her current life.

Basim is drawn to the OC/Reader because he feels that she is the same Sigyn, his Sigyn, who always loved him and cared for him, no matter what Loki did. But OC/Reader/Sigyn feels some kind of constant tension around Basim and sometimes even avoids meeting him.

It's better to decide the outcome yourself.

Just finished Ac Mirage and omg…. I friggin loved it.

Everything from Basim’s stealthiness, to the way Basim slowly becomes Loki. 🥹❤️

BUT I COULDN’T HELP BUT THINK OF HAYTHAM’S AMULET/ GRAND TEMPLE KEY AND HOW IT LOOKED LIKE THE DISKS IN THE ISU TEMPLE THAT BASIM WAS CHECKING OUT!!!!

But I also thought Nehal was going to Templar grand master, maybe even Juno or Aletheia! But I enjoyed her character so much and was sad when she had to go. 🥲😭💕 I felt for Basim.
