valley of memory has some great homages to previous games like eg the ac2 coffee scene and the whole ac3-adjacent prison segment, but on a lesser level, i really enjoy that both basim and desmond have scenes where they stride headfirst into enemy territory and their first question is 'where is my father'

smell/scent whatever hcs (modern au)

Basim:

✧ i'm sensing wood, smoke, incense. Either he's got a heavy smell to him, you feel it before you see him, or he doesn't smell like anything. It conflicts (The heavy smell) with the whole master assasin thing but I think it has an underlayer that makes you question him, something hidden underneath the incense. Nothing sweet to him, maybe a little bitter sometimes citrus-y.

Hytham:

✿ A lot of people would say he smells like books, old paper but that scent doesn't linger, I also don't think it would be his go to perfume smell. It's something unisex. Sometimes sandal and myrrh incense specifically. He smells nicely and not too strong, maybe pink pepper and some musk?

Evie Frye:

✯ I'm getting very strong flower vibes. Especially iris flowers, the flower is a symbol for mystery (depends on colour but i'm rambling now) and I feel like people see her as mysterious in a way. Safe to say she has multiple perfume scents to choose from with a rose one being her most used, rose a slight tinge of bergamot. Also a lavender one.

Jacob Frye:

｡⁠*ﾟ⁠+ I'm having a lot of trouble with him on this topic. He smells like a breeze, the outside, little bit like hay, it has a certain dust-like feel to it, axe body spray.

Arno Dorian:

✧ If we consider him living like he does in-game then he smells like coffee and a bakery. I don't mean he smells like a fresh pastry, more like after baking there's somtimes this greasy, oily note in the air, he hates it and tries to cover himself in perfume - french vanilla and rose. He prefers sweeter perfume.

Elisé:

ෆ Lillies, something similar to an old rosary a little smoke.

Shay:

～⁠♡ Gunpowder he would like shooting for practice in his free time, a cold winter morning, but his perfume is amber, he sprays himself like once.

Haytham Kenway:

⊰⁠⊹ something fancy, unisex but masculine leaning, very pleasant and not overwhelming. Musk and something a little sweet maybe even a fruit.

Ratonhnhaké:ton:

∘⁠˚⁠˳⁠° The outside, flowers, smoke, mint. It's hard to catch it, he doesn't like strong scents and most of these come from him being out and he hates when some cling onto him.

basim and eivor both living under the shadow of their father's 'shame' from childhood. basim rejecting its foundation entirely, eivor fighting for years to purge that shame and reclaim her family's honour. each of them, in their own way, pursuing a personal journey that goes to the heart of that pain and coming to terms with it, and in the process 'forgiving' themselves and accepting they were never to blame, and that their fathers loved them too much to let them carry it.
