ROOTS: Fall in love with your hair
A New Year is here, and it is time to fall in love with your hair.
Natural hair doesn't necessary mean healthy hair. Just because a protective style can last up to 12 weeks you must still maintain your hair weekly or bi-weekly. Healthy hair means a healthy scalp. Here are the steps to maintaining healthy hair and a healthy scalp.
1. Keeping your scalp clean is essential. If the scalp is dirty with product or scalp buildup then the pores are closed causing slow to no growth. Your scalp doesn't require shampoo weekly of every time you sweat. You can use products like NNR Scalp Refresher, Hair Astringent, or a co-poo product.
2. The next step is to stimulate the scalp with a daily massage using your finger tips. You can use a light oil, essenial oils or nothing but firm massaging. Having an invigorating scalp ensures that the blood will circulate move causing more hair growth.
3. Invest in different hair treatments. Start with a hydration steam treatment twice a month. Depending on the health and needs of your hair rotate your conditioners.
Moisturizing conditioners are basic treatments that ensure moisture to the hair shaft and cuticle.
Protein conditioners strengthen the hair cuticle and stop breakage.
Hair Masks are also for excellent treatments for your tresses. There are different hair masks depending on your hair texture.
Happy Moisturizing!

I decided to take some time this holiday and visit Johannesburg, South Africa with my family. Of course we visited the SA tourist attractions such as the Apartied Museum. Then there was the Lion Park, and thr craddle of civilization home of lucy the first human mankind. These attractions are some of the must see places in South Africa.
Hair and Fashion is always on the top of my style gaze when I travel. I like to see what fashion the local people are wearing, and I absolutelylove to see what hairstyles they are wearing. When it comes to fashion Johanasburg is at the top of the list. The style is reminiscent of "Ethnic European".
Although the weather is hot, it does not stop the fashionistas from wearing their hair and clothes however they chose.
I seen a ton of naturalistas wearing locs, natural hair updos, and protective textured looks. I did see some women wearing very short crop and colored cuts.
You can find all things swanky in Johannesburg from the hotels to the resturants. Make Johannesburg a must on your travel list.
Here are some some of Joburg's top natural hair bloggers and artist that represent that Johannesburg, SA hair and fashion 2016.
