Hi everyone!

I can finally share the full artwork I painted for Secret Lair: Roll for Initiative Superdrop.

While working on this illustration, I focused heavily on Shadowheart - her faith, her doubts, and the different paths her story can take. That naturally led to mirrors, reflections, and a space filled with quiet details that hint at those possibilities rather than spelling them out. And of course, no black market would exist without Mol quietly running the show!

A lot of care went into weaving Baldur’s Gate 3 references into the scene, and designing those small, easily missed details was one of my favorite parts of the process.

Huge thanks to my Art Director, Jacob Covey, for the trust and guidance on this piece.

A few details only make themselves known if you’re willing to look twice;)

PS: If the art style feels familiar, I also painted "Astarion, the Decadent" for a previous Secret Lair. Getting to bring Baldur’s Gate characters into Magic card art as a longtime fan has been incredibly meaningful to me.
