Sigh.. Catra.

1.) How I feel about this character:

First of all, I've never gravitated towards Catra's type of character archetype. The Sasuke, The Bakugo--the childhood friend turned awful rival (often on opposite sides of a conflict entirely) has never been my cup of tea. As such, I never sympathized with Catra in the way I think the show wanted the audience too. While I'm aware I'm in the minority, it's definitely allowed me to be way more objective about her character arc/writing, etc. So while I think she had potential to break a mold in some regard--she didn't and I find her extremely grating, and that's unfortunate.

2.) People I ship romantically with this character:

No one from the main cast, she's personally wounded nearly all of them to an absurd degree. Glitra is interesting to me in dynamic and narrative, but I'm more inclined to defend it in AUs--Catfuma might work too just based on the fact that Perfuma and Catra have had very little personal interaction. Beyond that, I don't ship Catra with anyone.

3.) My unpopular opinion about this character:

Oh. Oof. Uh... probably just my answer to the first question? I don't find Catra to be terribly sympathetic. Or charming or what not. She's very childish--arguably immature and cocky. It's fun to a degree before I start to get 🙄

4.) One thing I wish had happened in canon:

I wish SO BAD Catra had made her own choice to "go". To let Adora go. To let her past go. To let her pain go. Her obsessions go. I wanted her to leave at the end of the series to go off on her own journey to find herself and her self worth and her purpose. I think she deserved that. And it's how I'll imagine the series ended in my own work moving forward. I think Catra could have been a very powerful lesson in self loathing, recovery, accountability and responsibility.

Unfortunately she was not. But if I could magically change the ending, I would do that.

6.) My crossover ship: not a ship, but I think if Catra hung around with Selena Kyle (Catwoman) she'd work her shit out.

7.) A headcanon fact: Catra is afraid of cucumbers 🥒

Glitra is a great pairing but I can’t see it working in canon, solely because season 5 never bothered to have the whole “you unintentionally killed my mom” conversation.  If that was possible to be worked out, in a way that was respectful to both characters, I would be all for it.

I think it truly depends on the problem? 🥺

In most cases, I'd say she goes to Glimmer. Glimmer is smart and QUEEN--the whole of Bright Moon goes to her for problems. Plus she's more patient and understanding. (My friend wrote a lil something for upcoming Glimmadora week, that I think actually, maybe unintentionally, proves this lol)

I think anytime Luna went to Adora for a problem, it was because she wanted it enabled mdnajdjahdjsj Adora probably struggled often, when Luna was a baby, to tell her 'no'.

23. default font when typing | hmm what a weird question gkjdjkfd. when i write fics on Pages on my laptop, i usually change it to Gill Sans, but on google docs it’s kinda set on default. Calibri, I think?
