“We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you wanna stop and feel the rain?” + bareg 😈😈😈😈
We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you wanna stop and feel the rain?
“I can’t believe the Dark Lord is making us pick up this dumb package in person.” Barty whined.
“I can’t believe he’s making me come with you because he doesn’t trust you to do it alone.” Regulus complained.
“He could’ve sent you alone, but he didn’t.” Barty retorted.
Regulus has to admit he’s got a point, he hates being undervalued and is getting properly annoyed.
“Well, I bet you don’t know what we’re picking up!” He almost yelled at Barty.
Of course, Regulus also didn’t know. That wasn’t the point he was trying to make. How did Barty always know exactly which buttons to push.
“No. He still likes me better though.” Hah, win. The Dark Lord was always nicer to him than he was to Barty.
“That’s because he’s boning your cousin.”
Urghh. He was right of course, but Regulus really didn’t want that image in his head.
They walked along in silence, both of them too stubborn to continue the conversation. A storm broke out overhead. Barty quickly cast a nonpluvius charm over himself but Regulus stopped in his tracks, and looked up at the sky. He let the rain wash over him. It felt nice. He wanted to enjoy it for a while.
“What are you doing?” Bart asked annoyed.
“We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you wanna stop and feel the rain?”
Regulus knows he was being stubborn, but he can easily spell himself dry later. And right now, he’s enjoying just standing there, the rain on his skin reminds him he’s real. That there’s a world out there not influenced by him at all. It’s comforting, a reminder that not everything is happening inside his head.
Regulus shifted his eyes to Barty, who looked properly annoyed. He grabbed his wand and silently cast finite incantatem on Barty, who immediately got soaked by the rain.
“What did you do!” Barty sounded angry.
“Come on, just enjoy this with me!” Regulus was shouting because the rain was hard and loud around them. Barty still looked angry. He walked over to him and grabbed Barty’s hand.
“Just stay here with me, just for a moment.”
The expression on Barty’s face softened. He squeezed Reg’s hand.
“Alright, because you asked.” Barty replied.
The rain had completely flattened Barty’s hair. It was longer than Regulus and so it steadily dropped rain into his eyes. Regulus lifted his hands to Barty’s face to wipe the rain away.
“How much longer?” Barty asked.
Regulus took in his expression, he looked simultaneously endeared and extremely annoyed. Reg couldn’t help but smile at him.
