Spoilers for season three:
It absolutely kills me watching Wille’s interactions with his parents throughout the series. He deals with scarce physical affection like hugs, they rarely actually listen to him or give him room to breathe. Affirmations are pretty much nonexistent. He’s constantly being compared to his older brother Erik. Have his parents ever told him they love him?! I’m struggling to remember. It’s like Wille has been living in an emotional wasteland his entire life. That is until he meets Simon and becomes better friends with Felice. The lack of care he’s given for so long is heartbreaking. 😭💔
Here’s a couple of screenshots I took from episode five of season three when Wille is trying to talk to his father. He’s trying to have a real conversation, ask questions and get answers. He doesn’t get that. He gets surface level answers and cut off when he’s trying to ask another question.
