Give us a couple lines first, for sure!! A couple paragraphs even! But if you then put the rest behind a Readmore, then those who want to read it will open it up and do so but those who dont want to wont have to scroll for ages to make it past your post.
If youre not sure how to do a readmore, theres a button on desktop, and on cell/mobile, all you have to do is, say you want the read more to start after this paragraph. You'd hit enter and drop down to a new line, and then type :readmore: (including the colons) and hit enter again. This will automatically generate the Read More.
Note: this is sent with love and affection and encouragement. Fics are great, i love them, but if im not in the zone to read one right now then I want to be able to get to the next post quickly rather than having to scroll past the whole thing first. Readmores are a great balance between the two. :) xx
tumblr should put a “read more” for asks because instead of just scrolling past or idk, blocking me or literally anything else evasive, you go to my profile and leave an MLA format passive aggressive essay in my inbox.
