Heyy! I really enjoyed your fic "The Parable of the Caller" so I wrote a poem inspired by it. Hope you like it!
A Forgotten Past
The chronicles of a life
that were once secured.
Now they lay raw and bare,
stories of what’d been endured.
Something new is revealed.
But nothing shocking, really.
More like seeing with clarity,
through a fog of uncertainty.
It challenges his reality.
Something new, he heard
everyday, leaving him confused,
curious even, but he persisted.
A bond is formed
with this unfamiliar voice.
He listened to it, despite the noise
screaming that he was who destroys.
His hand trembles when
he gets to the end, the last
message to him that’s passed.
“I am you, from a forgotten past.”
i've heard, once, that it's an unparalleled feeling, to have someone inspired enough by your art that they create their own. something something inspiration to the point of creation.
all that to say, this is so so beautiful.
i loove that you've employed a rhyme scheme here - in the bit of poetry i've dabbled in, i always shy away from it because it scares me :3 memory as the 'fog of uncertainty'..YEAH! 'the noise / screaming that he was who destroys'.... I AM YOU FROM A FORGOTTEN PAST!!! fuck yeah. this is sooo good. i'm so honored that you shared it with me, thank you so much!!!
