Ok I’ll answer this because I didn’t say anything for his gender
I actually think he’d identify as a nonhuman/non monster
In nightwatch soulless creatures (objects and animals) are actually considered seperate to soulful creatures like humans and monsters. In that Dust would relate to the most disposable and uncared for class and basically associate his gender and species with the soulless (rats specifically)
(I have some interesting world building for that but I won’t waste this ask blabbing about it)

Pronoun wise probs likes he/they/it. I don’t know if theres a rat gender flag. But he has that and would probably design it and it’d be very ugly and he’d like it that way
