Ep 11 thoughts (and spoilers)
The ep 11 curse:
I love how they didn’t have any breakups or toxic ways that they dealt with the situation like yes, everyone was processing the situation differently like Kan and Wat were understandably shocked, upset and hurt but they tried to stay composed and helped Akk, Ayan and Thua by trying to diffuse the situation.
I think Thua exposing Akk wasn’t the best thing but needed to happen. Ayan has been pushing Akk to tell the truth since ep 6 and who knows when would be the time he would ever be ready. Thua taking a stand and finally voicing out his plans was something that I was looking forward to as he was always neutral. Like what Akk said, “since when did he change” but the thing is, this was who he was from the start. Him not announcing his plans, watching everyone around him and planning his next steps was exactly who he is and seeing how close Akk and Ayan got was something that he would’ve been okay with if Akk told the truth in the first place. I think his main issue was just Akk and Ayan covering and protecting each other but the other students suffering the consequences of their actions.
Wat’s short film:
I think Wat’s short film would really shed light to what kind of school Suppalo has become. From the curse to it’s power structure towards the students and staff. Suppalo is a reputable school, one that people actually looks up to and receives sponsorships from their board of directors as well. Letting people know the type of school Suppalo could be will also open the door to how everyone was affected and the politics that take place behind the scenes. It also references the tilted pin scene which I think was extremely cute. The banter of who liked who first was way too cute!
Support, love and trust between Akk, Ayan, Thua, Kan and Wat (add in Namo too)
I think having the 6 of them come together also shows that they are willing to protect and support each other after hearing the whole truth. Yes, Kan and Wat could’ve chosen to never forgive Akk and yes, Kan could’ve chosen to break up with Thua. I think the way they handled the situation from the start after knowing the truth shows how mature and understanding they are as they tried to empathise and help Akk and Thua. Kan’s hesitance in telling the truth about Thua also shows that he didn’t want to hurt him but knew it was the right thing to do. Wat’s immediate support kicked in when he covered for Akk and Ayan in front of the principal, teachers and the director. His way of deescalating the situation was to use his film as a way to distract and make it seem that things were all made up so no one would be in serious trouble immediately.
Relationships:
AkkAyan
I love how Akk and Ayan stuck by each other throughout the episode. From the pin scene where Ayan fixed his pin onto Akk and saying that he will always be by his side, to him touching the pin during the pledge as a silent reminder to Akk that he will always be there for him no matter what. I think Akk and Ayan are peak hurt/comfort (FIGHT ME ON THIS). The way it has impacted both boys also show how tired they are mentally like the amount of times Akk broke down in this episode was so sad and Ayan giving his support, being the strong one so that he could comfort Akk. First and Khao really gave everything to give such emotional scenes because it definitely isn’t easy and can be emotionally taxing too. I love the pool scene were they got to have a bit of normalcy, where they could just momentarily forget about the world and enjoy the moment they’re in.
KanThua
Honestly, I think Thua knew what he was getting himself into when he told the truth about Akk. He also kept avoiding eye contact with Kan throughout the later part of the episode, like as if he couldn’t bare to see Kan’s expression of hurt and confusion. Kan also didn’t expect that and tried to protect Thua when they were talking inside the prefect room. He was the first person that wanted to protect and defend Thua when Ayan asked if he was behind the Eclipse account. Thua was fully prepared for Kan to break up with him while Kan was hesitant to even tell the truth and only agreed when Thua said to not protect him. During the scene where they were writing the screenplay was very cute. You could see Thua’s shock and hesitance when he was paired with Kan. Seeing that Kan was still willing to help and talk to him, willing to admit in front of everyone that they were in a relationship. I think that was very assuring and sweet of Kan to do so, like it shows that he is willing to support and understand Thua as long as he knew the truth.
Chadok and Dika
Their story was tragic. The literal Romeo and Juliet. I’ve been saying to many people inside the discord chat that Khao’s reference to R&J would apply to AkkAyan but recently, after seeing a few spoilers about the novel, I was discussing it with a friend and we concluded that it was Chadok and Dika since Dika was the one that died. Just like in Romeo and Juilet, they were star-crossed lovers, not meant to be together. Them getting caught by the principal was also very telling on how they wouldn’t have their happy ending. With Chadok trying to protect Dika to transfer him to Parot since he couldn’t leave Suppalo. Seeing how they were engaged really put things into perspective of how bitter and upset he became after losing the love of his life. (I’m not saying his actions were excused. I just feel sorry for him) I think this just shows how horrible Suppalo’s impact is on its people.
Final thoughts:
This whole episode was a roller coaster. I felt so sorry and upset for all of them and the boys all really deserved better. If they really are investigating the situation, this means that Akk and possibly Thua might face suspension soon.
On a brighter note, I think Suppalo will change for the better and people are going to heal (EVERYONE GO FOR THERAPY PLEASE)
