Day 100

Ship: Nepeta x Jake

Ship Song: 'Oh Millie' from the show Helluva Boss

A classic, Boy-Meets-Girl, Girl-Impresses-Boy, Boy-Falls-Madly-In-Love trope.

I like to imagine for this that Nepeta meets Jake while he's still in his island, alone. He was scared because he's noticed something had been taking on the tougher lusi of his home, stuff even he hasn't had the gall to kill. After some investigating, he finds Nepeta holed in a cave (perhaps through Gamzee time shenanigans, she was trapped there?), offers her to stay with him, and the two start hitting it off immediately.

His feelings start as a one-sided infatuation that annoys his friends and brings, unfortunately, Nepeta into the crush drama as well.

Dirk and Jane are highly suspicious of her (maybe even a little judgemental); the usual angsty arcs ensue.

Nepeta is no dummy and catches on to everything having to do with the situation immediately. Slowly, she's able to integrate herself into the group and soothe hurt feelings (Rogue of Heart?). She befriends Jane with Roxy's help. She has a harder time with Dirk because he keeps running away from the situation, but through Hal (who has been guilting him for disliking someone who didn't do anything to spite him, she just came to be), he starts letting go of his pity party and unexpectedly, some nights, lets her in for some wholesome deep discussions about identity.

Throughout this, Jake naively brushed off his friends' attitude changes at first, focusing more on his pursuit of Nepeta, but she is very frank with him about how he should learn to read the room, and that they shouldn't 'date' until things were cleared up. He's avoidant at first, scared about how he's been perceived by everyone, but he comes around and asks Nepeta for help with talking to everyone again.

Stuff gets resolved easier and faster through their years, waiting for the other players to arrive. Nepeta and Jake go full redrom together.
