Seems like a really cool idea! The people who made it wanted a safe spot for geeky ladies to be able to explore their hobbies (gaming, reading Manga, sewing cosplay) together without being hassled. The Google-translated website (sorry if any nuance is lost, let me know) says that sometimes it can be tough or embarrassing to have nerdy hobbies in public as a woman. Not being super knowledgeable about gendered b oh as in nerd culture abroad, do Japanese women have similar issues with Gate keeping harassment with in geek circles, or is it mostly external public pressure?
