Okay I totally understand being upsetti at Ian over this, I honestly am a little bit too, but also I kinda feel bad for everyone involved- obviously, Pam the most, but I also kind of sympathise with Ian bc tbh, I can absolutely see myself fucking up that bad just by forgetting the rules to a game, so I really cant say shit,
Really loving the new fan-content-appreciation thing Smosh has been doin since the D*fy collapse
Like I know we joke abt like “ahhh so embarrassing they might see our nonsense garbage haha” but like they’re obviously planning on showcasing a lot of fan works now and in the future and it’s actually really nice to know they appreciate and want to show off and talk about our work, it feels like much more of a two-way connection with them than it used to be, like back when SWNN did #mysmoshart
Okay idk why but I feel like I wanna put this out there,
This community has grown. So much since when I joined
Back in 2016, when I made this blog, there were like... 5 active smosh blogs, total. It’s a long story that I don’t even fully know because I wasn’t around for it, but the tumblr community that HAD existed had pretty much died completely after a bought of ship drama and other nonsense. There was little to no fic, art, and no real community. A couple of blogs had tried to organize a “smosh renaissance”, but unfortunately those people had gone largely inactive and no one really ever picked it up.
Recently, I’ve been seeing tons of new blogs popping up every week. There’s artists and authors and inside jokes and people making friendships and this fanbase is actually ALIVE, and it’s hard to explain but seeing blogs I don’t recognize and realizing that I can no longer keep track of every active blogger in this community gives me a huge sense of pride for how much we’ve grown.
I know this blog in particular has changed greatly since I first made it. The fact is, the way my brain works, I can never stick to a certain creative medium. My brain is always switching between art, music, writing- which sounds like it would be great, and I’m sure it would be if I could stick to one for long enough to actually get good at it. But I can’t, and whenever I reach my limit for one, it gets too frustrating and tedious to me to pursue, which is why you haven’t seen me really touch fic in a long time. What I’ve found, largely through my work in this fanbase, is that when I push myself to keep pursuing one form of creativity, it just burns me out worse. Because of that, I’ve decided to let myself do whatever feels natural- which is why you’ve seen me start to go into video editing. I do hope to one day return to writing, but at the moment, graphic design is my passion is what truly interests me.
But that’s honestly besides the point- I guess my real point is, I’d like to thank everyone who’s stuck with me, through my periods of radio silence and my sudden lack of content creation and everything else. I still see people I recognize from the notes of my first Incorrect Quote posts in my notes today, and every time it makes me undeniably grateful to know that so many of you have continued to support me for three fuckin years, even with my inconsistency. I’ve gone through a lot in my personal life over these past years, and I can’t begin to explain how much your support means to me.
Anyways, I’m not even sure what my goal was for this post and I doubt most of yall will have read this far anyways. I guess my tldr is, I’m really fuckin happy that I’m a part of this family and I’m proud of all of us, especially those of us that have been here since the beginning. I love you all. Drink water, wash ur face, be nice, perhabs pet a lizard if available. Take care of urself bc I believe in u. Peace out sluts
Knowing what we do now about d*fy, it gives me comfort to believe that they were the ones who decided on the godawful team names on summer/winter games through the years (dablizzards, cowbaes, etc.) and not the actual squad
“You’re My Favorite Pizza Place” originated in episode #5 of Try Not To Laugh, on March 27th 2018. That’s the day before my birthday and I don’t know how I feel about that,
I’m rewatching the entire TNTL series and I find it interesting that Keith was the first one to make anybody laugh AND the first one to go a whole round without laughing, both in the first episode
Unrelated, but they’ve. Really gotten funnier,
