ABOUT LAST WEEK Sabs got herself a sweet new Philips Wake Up Light. Five word review: “The setting sun also rises.” Kristy has also been looking at wake up lights, and has had terrible sleep lately. Her Lark Sleep Monitor, helped her realize just how little sleep she was getting so she stopped using it. Sadz. Also, Kristy started using Just Sing it. She thinks it’s pretty fun, but can’t see it being as satisfying as real karaoke. SPECIAL GUESTS Today we introduce the first of our special guests. After the incident in SF that trashed an owner’s home, you can feel just a little bit safer putting strangers in your bed. Airbnb is requiring users to prove their identities. NERDY 30 More than just a day on the calendar, May the Fourth has officially-unofficially been deemed "Star Wars Day" due to its close resemblance to the traditional Jedi salutation. May The Fourth is arguably one of the most important days in nerd culture, ranking slightly lower on the list than Comic-Con. It's origins may be a bit fuzzy, but the Wookiepedia has citied the late, great Margaret Thatcher as inspiring the first "May The Fourth Be With You" in 1979, and since, of course, you can always trust a Wookie to come through in a pinch, we'll consider that a hard fact. Netflix’s CEO says that password sharing isn’t a big deal. Do you do it? HBO has the sentiment saying they don’t care about piracy. But how will they recoup the lost cash!? Zach Braff gets on the Kickstarter train with the Garden State 2 movie. Over $1 mil has been pledged so far. Live from New York it’s Yahoo!? Ricky Gervais The Daily Show talking Twitter idiots. Hey Bubba! President Bill Clinton finally joins Twitter (thanks Stephen Colbert!). Twitter testing two-factor authentication. Oops, too bad that didn’t happen sooner. Game industry news has us worried, there will be no Nintendo press conference at E3 this year. Is Nintendo “over”? And we thought the economy was recovering... EA to restructure and close EA Partners and PopCap Vancouver. Maybe EA was named “Worst Company in the US” by Consumerist for a reason. Hopefully there will be some game jobs in the future for all the Girl Scouts who get their video game developer badge. NERD FRIDAY COCKTAIL MINUTE This week we’re celebrating National Karaoke week with a drink we’re calling, That’s My Jam. There’s even a remix for the hotter days ahead! MAIN EVENT: IT'S KARAOKE WEEK! There’s a Karaoke documentary out there and we need to watch it. Stage fright? Don’t worry — there’s plenty of apps and tech tools out there to get your karaoke on without ever needing to step foot in a karaoke bar. Just Sing It was Soulo looks pretty great. We’ll have to try it. Remember the Noiseless USB Karaoke Mic? It’s like a plunger for your face. POPSUGAR Tech has a nice list of iPhone karaoke apps. You can’t forget good 'ol Rock Band. That said, you better get the DLC while you can, some of the music rights are expiring. Hope you were able to ride the lightning while you could, after all the final rock band DLC was earlier this month. The day the music died indeed. But if you really want to do it right, don’t miss the Xing Wii U Karaoke Machine. It comes with 90,000 songs, dance, exercise, yoga, and brain training. Plus, at just under $16k, it’s a total steal. If you have an Xbox, check out the Xbox Karaoke Channel, you can get an all access pass for a low price. There’s a pretty noticeable delay with the mics and calibration is poor, but once you have a few drinks, it won’t matter :) And if you’re too cheap to download apps, hit the bar, or whatever, just sing along to your iTunes playlist. Look past the audience.

Getting your mind right with a cocktail or two never hurt anyone.

Don’t think too hard — grab the song book, pick a song you know well, and get in the queue. The more you mull it over, the more stressed you’ll get, and the less likely you are to get your ass on stage.
