Dear Hank and John,
“My thoughts are stars that I can’t fathom into constellations,” is probably going to be very true of this post.
So 2 years ago today I became a Nerdfighter because of my amazing sister Anna. She was watching p4a videos and I was a very nosy younger sister so I sat down next to her and watched. We sat there and watched some older vlogbrothers videos and I would be a completely different person today if we hadn’t done that. So thanks sis. Because of you guys I started watching Charlie McDonnell who introduced me to Doctor Who. Now my family and I watch the Christmas special together on Christmas Day. I joined tumblr because of you guys and my friends and I are SO much closer for that. You guys created an open and inviting community that accepted me at a time when I was starting to grow up. I can not thank you guys enough. Almost every aspect of who I am comes from things that I’ve learned from you. You’ve taught me how amazing it is to love things passionately with communities that share that love. You’ve taught me how to imagine people complexly. You’ve taught me that giving is better than receiving and that anyone, no matter how old or young, can make a difference. I am so happy with the person I am today and it’s all thanks to you. I never noticed this until yesterday
This week being Banned Book Week and all, we of the English Society at Missouri State University decided to do a reading. We stacked a bunch of banned books on the stage of the campus amphitheater and read snippets of them all day. A Firefly marathon ensued.
