Black. Everything was black.
She tried to turn her head but couldn’t move an inch.
There were no trees. No grass. No moon. Was there even a sky anymore?
Where was she? She can’t remember. She can’t remember anything. She felt like she was forgetting something really important-
An image of light blue flashed in her mind’s eye, and she remembered.
Where was —?
Panic pierced through her core and she called out to —...
...........................
..................................................
Did she even make a sound? Any noise at all?
She couldn’t feel her mouth. Or her body. Was she even alive?
The silence was unbearable. She couldn’t take it anymore. Where was —? She can’t lose —. She needs to find — now now now nownownownow-

“Towl!”
That was Amelia’s only warning before a hard push struck her back, burying her deeper into her sleeping bag. Crimson orbs flew open wide and Amelia gasped sharply from the impact. Pain, fear, and surprise short-circuited her normally composed mind while tremors racked through her form as she struggled to breathe.
“Ame! You okay?”
Even while dazed, Amelia recognized the voice immediately. As she tried to control her breathing, the brunette turned her head and was met with her own face and the brightest blue eyes she’d ever seen.
“Ame?”
Were they even brighter than mom’s?
Sudden, quick paps on the cheek brought Amelia back from her musings and her eyes refocused back to her twin.
“You’re really starting to freak me out now.” Faith said bluntly, retracting her hand.
Amelia merely groaned and turned her head to the other side.
The shiny Noctowl watched her movements with wide eyes full of worry. Amelia couldn’t fight back the grin tugging at her lips. “Were you the truck that hit me?”
Noctowl's red eyes left hers, staring at the ground and hooting softly in shame. Amelia reached out a slightly shaky hand and gently stroked his head. “You’ve been getting stronger lately, huh? I’m so proud of you.” The golden pokemon’s gaze darted back up to see his trainer’s kind smile. “Thanks for waking me up.” Noctowl cooed happily and nuzzled his head into her palm.
Retreating her hand, Amelia slowly sat up onto her knees and turned to Faith. That face which normally wore a smirk was now tense, lips pressed in a thin line as those light blue eyes watched her with an intensity that was very much unlike her. Amelia forced her expression to appear nonchalant, a practiced effort, “It’s okay, Faith. Just a bad dream.”
Faith’s eyebrows furrowed. She saw through her sister’s mask. “It wasn’t though,” her voice was rough with frustration, “I thought you were choking. I tried to wake you up and it felt like I was touching a Shuckle." She scooted closer to her sister. "What happened?”
The elder twin glanced downward and shook her head. "Just a bad dream. It was dark and I didn't know where I was." Amelia pondered for a moment before huffing a laugh. She glanced at Noctowl to stoke it's feathers then looked back up at Faith. "You weren't there. I though I lost you and freaked out."
Faith leaned back a bit, blue eyes thoughtful. "So you were worried about me?"
"Well, yeah," Amelia responded. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
The younger twin's lips pulled into her trademark smirk, much to Amelia's relief, and reached out towards her backpack. "Yeah, you'd totally be lost without me." She pulled out a pokeball and released her own partner, a shiny Umbreon.
"Hey, girl. Mind giving us some light? Big sis still needs a nightlight." Faith grinned openly when her sister half-heartedly smacked her arm.
"Breon!" Umbreon obeyed and absorbed the moon's light. The light blue rings adorning it's body glowed, softly illuminating the area.
Amelia gazed at the glowing pokemon and sighed, content. While she wouldn't admit it aloud, Amelia always felt better when she was around Umbreon's light blue glow. It's a color she often took comfort in and greatly appreciated. Red eyes looked to the side and found Faith's own blue eyes staring at her pokemon with a look of pride. Those eyes seemed to glow as well, and the sight made Amelia's heart swell.
"Faith."
Glowing light blue eyes met red.
What would she do without her?
"Thanks."
