Apex Moving (back) to Ebay!

So after 4 years, 2268 sales, a 5 Star Seller rating and no major violations Etsy just forced me to close my shop. At first I thought it was one of those “the honeymoon’s over” situations because I have never had any previous problems -- it turns out Etsy went straight for the divorce.

Man, this is the first time I ever had a problem and I did everything they asked within the designated time frame to avoid “probation” - I jumped through all their hoops as fast as I could. I had no open cases or late orders or anything. In response to me executing all their requests they place my account on probation anyway and a new list of impossible conditions. Sincerely, why? Makes no sense whatsoever.

Essentially they want to hold all my money (including customer shipping fees) and force me to do all my work out of pocket for the next month - while also freezing my current (substantial) funds in my account. I work week by week or at least every two weeks on inventory and also pay bills out of this money. Not only the money coming in the future but holding a substantial amount of my current (overdue) funds that could help me keep things going. (and eat food, and pay bills)

They say I can refund from this account but can’t pay my Etsy bill or pay for customer shipping or withdraw it. Can’t even pay Etsy or pay to ship orders??? I am forced to either live and run a business out of pocket for 30 days while they hold ALL incoming funds, or close the shop. They’re asking me to cover more than ever before straight out of pocket with absolutely no warning - and also while they’re holding my last two “paychecks”. There is really no choice but to close down.

Maybe this is a tactic for “problem” sellers to force them off Etsy? I sincerely did not see myself as a bad seller.

I read a couple articles on how brutal they can be to even the highly rated, established sellers - the only thing you can really do to protect yourself is to make sure your payments go through Paypal instead of your Etsy payment account - something I failed to do. That way if they try to put an Etsy boot on your seller neck your funds are safe. Make a note Etsy sellers!

Anyway, I am reopening my Ebay store! Don’t go to my Etsy store - it’s set to semi-permanent vacation until I clear everything out. It will take a few hours to get all my ads posted on Ebay.
