“No other woman has a heart as steady and a mind as brilliant. Even after all these years, Penelope — your strength, your faith… it still humbles me.”
— Odysseus
Move aside Odysseus, that girl is mine now.
Anyway, this is my design for Penelope, since I currently have a hyper-fixation with epic the musical and Greek mythology.
I hope you all like it 👉👈
I’ve been thinking a bit more with Penelope’s hair — imagining her as a cool platinum blonde, or even with bold, fantastical shades like purple. But in this particular piece, I feel the black hair really brings her to life. Maybe later I’ll create a full character sheet with different variations, because honestly, there just aren’t enough versions of Penelope out there. For now, meet my black-haired Penelope!
A few extra details — she’s adorned with plenty of pearls, a loving gift from her mother. And those feather earrings? They come from the ducks that rescued her as a baby.
And yes, I know the Mycenaeans didn’t wear their eye makeup like this — that’s entirely an artistic choice. As for any other historical inaccuracies you might spot, I apologize in advance; I’m no historian, just someone having fun with the concept.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope you enjoy my art 🙌💓
