I have an orchid plant that was gifted to me a long time ago, as a Valentine's day gift. It quickly started dying, and I discovered the orchid was basically potted in a death-trap. I did some research, bought a repotting kit, and learned how to care for it. Somehow, it survived from just the two remaining living parts, some roots.

It lives with the rest of my plants as long green leaves, having sprouted a few new leaves over the years. I understood it may stay just leaves, from what I had read/heard ...but after THREE YEARS of loving and tending to it it's starting to produce a flower again. Guys I'm gonna cry

Native to: South America

Toxicity: non-toxic

It will do well in high, indirect light. It prefers high humidity and consistently damp - not wet - soil. If a terrarium is not possible, misting the leaves daily can provide the necessary humidity, although not ideal. Prune regularly to promote bushier growth.

My latest project...

3x large Ikea mason jars, filled with 5-7 types of moss and 2x species of Fittonia. + Some micro fauna to keep things alive and well.

I balanced the moisture over 3 or so days, before sealing them up for the foreseeable future.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much lately! I had a mealy bug infestation in my room (suuuuuper gross) and I had to move a third of my plants outside and a third of them died :( I did make this nerve plant arrangement in the mean time to get over my loss.
