Nessie over two years
On the evening of December 30, 2018, Nessie was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma. The emergency vet urged me to immediately drive overnight to the nearest veterinary hospital that provides chemotherapy treatments (Auburn University, four hours away). We got there in the wee hours of December 31, but...
January 17, 2019: Nessie had a great week! We went to the vet today for blood tests and the next round of chemo. Nessie's white blood cell count was higher than even the vet had hoped for, which is great! This week's chemo is in the form of pills -- one Thursday, one Friday, and one Saturday. They gave me gloves for administering the pills because apparently they're dangerous to touch. Nessie already had the first one. Nessie's dose of prednisone went down this week and will continue to go down over the next few weeks as lymph nodal swelling continues to reduce back to normal. She hasn't minded the prednisone at all because it means getting cheese (I ball up pills into cheese for her). Next week Nessie will be back on IV chemo. For now she's cheerful, bouncing around, and pleased to be getting so many cheese treats. I wanted to say yet again a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have either donated or shared this funding campaign. I would be so lost without you guys and you've really made all of this possible. So, thank you, thank you!!! I love you guys. ❤️
