Netflix's "Lou"

Ya'll, I just wanna take a moment to talk about Netflix's movie "Lou" for a second because like, I love LOVE when we get women's action movies that don't just insert a woman into a man's place y'know? and this movie, tHis movie goes above and beyond for me.

Now I'm not saying that it's perfect, and I know some people may actually not like how the theme of motherhood is used here but I DO.

I think Lou perfectly encapsulates the idea of having morally gray female characters, and it takes the idea of motherhood and fcking bashes it in! It's a bastardization of motherhood, the antithesis of it, it focuses on the parallel between a mother who would do anything for their child and a mother who wouldn't.

Parenthood in general is a theme seen throughout the movie, and the great thing about it is that neither choices the mothers in this film make are deciding factors of their power/strength.

I'd argue that Lou portrays one of the best morally gray female anti-heroes that I've seen in a while.
