demi!Yuuri being confused and then accepting what is going on as he realises he is falling for Victor but also starting to feel sexually attracted to someone for the first time in his life.
(I hope you enjoy it and this speaks to me because I’m demi myself! So hopefully, I managed to do it good. :) )
Yuuri didn’t know that there was a name for it.
He didn’t know that there was a name to describe the way he was feeling when it came to relationships. It wasn’t that he wasn’t interested in finding someone and hopefully pursing a relationship one day, it was that he wanted to do it at his own pace.
He wanted to find someone who truly understood him, someone who he connected with and accepted him for who he was. The ideal of getting to know the person intimately before romantic and sexual attraction came into play.
All this time, he thought that he was the odd one out.
While his class and rink mates went through various partners, he stayed by himself and simply waited. Phichit was different though, more like him but Yuuri never got the courage to ask him despite their closeness.
Until he came across the word and its definition.
This was who he was, it felt so right and it was comforting to know that there were many others like him out there. Who wanted that serious connection before pursing anything deeper.
He remembered smiling at his laptop screen before glancing down at his hands.
But then Viktor came along and everything changed.
Their relationship started off strange at first because Yuuri found it hard to bring Viktor down from the high pedestal that he had placed him on. The shock still hadn’t worn off and he couldn’t believe that his idol, the man he’s been looking up to for his entire life, was right here and offering to train him.
It took some time but as Viktor gradually came down from Yuuri’s pedestal, he realized that Viktor was just as normal as he was. He had his own set of problems and certain qualities that could be deemed unlikable.
Viktor was impulsive, self-centered and forgetful.
But he was also kind and patient, loyal and thoughtful. He had a smile that could melt snow and eyes that were the iciest of blues.
Yuuri understood the sudden increase of his heartbeat whenever Viktor entered the room, he understood his own hitch of breath whenever Viktor wrapped an arm around his waist.
There was a tight heat in the bottom of his stomach and the flushed cheeks whenever he caught of Viktor biting his lip or taking off his shirt to prepare for bed. It kept him awake at night as his hand would slowly descend down his stomach before it settled against the bulge that strained against his sweatpants.
He knew that this wasn’t because of anyone else but Viktor and it still surprised him to no end even though he finally understood.
He was falling in love with Viktor and felt attracted him like he had never felt with anyone else.
Yuuri knew Viktor like he knew the back of his hand and it turned out that he did love all of Viktor’s quirks, his habits and everything that was just him.
Their bond had grown and it had become something so much more than Yuuri first thought.
He had found the person who he never wanted to leave the side of.
So when Viktor gave him that gentle smile, underneath the shimming lights and slight noise coming from the distance, and told Yuuri that he loved him...
Yuuri gave his first kiss to Viktor and never regretted it.
It was the start of something new and brilliant for Yuuri, the days simply passing by through a light and warm haze. They were there for each other, they supported and helped each other whenever the other needed it.
This wasn’t a whirlwind romance, it was simple yet powerful and that was all that Yuuri could ever ask for.
It was perfect and it was them.
