Change is the only constant in this ever-moving world. After just a few brief months at Aerie Peak the hooves of the Horse carry us away once more. Nethergarde beckons and our aid has again been pledged to the Kirin Tor. New advancements in their understanding of the corruption within the Tower have spurred renewed efforts to cleanse and reclaim that cursed place.
The ties of the Brotherhood to the tower so long ago are not unknown; since our founding it has been a goal to see the Horse help recover and reclaim those walls. To retake our place in the Gatehouse where Anduin Lothar once walked. In those same halls he and his allies took the life of the mad mage, Medivh. Currently it stands as a testament to corruption; destruction; insanity. If it could be restored, what a great wound that would be healed. The scars of his mad deeds would begin to recover.
I thought when first I was approached about the possibility of a reclamation so many months ago it was something I would never see in my lifetime. With this new information, however, it seems it may be possible. Without the dark influences of the tower what more within Deadwind could be recovered? Such imaginings I have of the vicious ogres driven from the area leaving the road once more safe for travelers. The spiders grown far out of proportion by magical forces curbed leaving the night hours safe once more. Could even the village once inhabited there be reborn?
Perhaps I reach too far. There is still much work to be done. The very magic of the area is unstable to some degree, though according to the Kirin Tor it is not nearly so much as it was before Medivh claimed the tower as his own. Efforts are to be made, however. My superiors have authorized me to take the Horse back to Nethergarde to aid in these efforts beginning with the escort of the supplies and “tools” of their craft the mages will need. Unstable or not, we will make sure what they need for their tasks are safely delivered.
Our Liaison mentioned the need for those with bonds to the Light to aid in the cleansing of spirits and undead from the area. I may understand mage magic little but exorcism and cleansing with the Light I do understand well. Having already spoken to the unit several have volunteered for this duty as well.
I may be a fool for looking forward to this return to Nethergarde. Ever have our bonds to the place been strong. Aerie Peak never felt quite so suitable for the Horse. Always something has tugged on us, on me, to return us to that dry, obliterated land. Stark, hot, dangerous and yet it seemed rather fitting.
