Life Update 8/2/16
Hiya Guys Ria here. I am just going on here to make a life Update for you guys. Probably some of you are thinking why I am not on here as often as I used to be. Well I am always on here I am just not posting as much as I used to when I first started. I used to do so much more tags. I think it’s because my life kind of got hectic and I just didn’t have the time to do bookish tags. I am also more on Goodreads now than I am on my tumblr even though I love tumblr and everyone on the Bookblr commmunity. You guys might not know this (well you possibly cant because tumblr does not show follow counts but I have about 850 followers now and I’m so happy for each and everyone of you.) Once I reach 1000 I want to do a VERY LARGE GIVEAWAY- like maybe there will be three winners and they will get different things depending. Not just books, I also got 335 followers on Goodreads - which I post reviews and comments there of whatever I am reading at the time. When my Goodreads reaches 500 friends maybe I will do a giveaway on that. I been pretty slow with getting reading done lately because nothing’s really been catching my interest that much. The only book that really captured my interests thats new that’s very surprising is Wintersong, and I only have the first 50 pages of that because Martin Press @stmartinspress sent me the excerpt and it was very nice of them to do so. You guys should really check Wintersong on Goodreads its pretty cool. That book is not coming out until February. Another thing I’m very excited about is Roseblood by AG Howard. I heard that some people have gotten it already but I have not by Abram so blah. If you guys are not following me on Goodreads you really should because I am more active on there that I am on here. I still really love blogging on my Tumblr it’s just harder to get my word out on here. As you guys know I’m not a photographer or a artists (Bc of my crappy drawings series).I just have a big mouth. Hopefully I can start doing some more tags again and maybe start my YouTube channel as I always wanted I do have one video up but it’s not edited. I would love to do my updates I’m here as well as my goodreads but it’s easier on my Goodreads so if your not already and you like to be come friend me on there. It’s under goodreads.com/netherreads. I might even start a Twitter soon but that’s only if you guys want me to. I would like to be on more platforms- but I’m not really into social media that’s why it took me so long to make my Tumblr. My Reaction: A Court of Thorns and Roses (SPOILERS)
Hiya guys Ria here. I locked myself out of my house but thankfully I had ACOTAR to keep me company in this unfortunate accident and I finished it while I was stuck out here so let’s talk about it! Warning I might spoil some things so don’t read this if you haven’t read the book. Plot: A Court of Thorns and Rosesis a YA retelling of Beauty and the Beast with Fae folk (because Sarah J Maas loves Faes…have you guys seen it in her books yet? Lol). We start off with our main character Feyre who is WAY different from Aelin Galathynious from ToG…NOT. They have very similar personalities. They both kill things to survive or for a living, and their very boyish girls that like to act sort of girly. This book though is about Feyre accidently killing a High Fae man named Andeus (I don’t know if I spent his name right) and as a punishment (? Living with hot Faes is a punishment??) has to live in the spring court capital with a very hot Fae Lord (who is supposively our beast within this story). Tamlin can be beastly but is also very gentle….he probably the most gentle beast character the world has ever seen besides Disney’s Beast. This is a Beauty and the Beast retelling for 2/3 of the story (follow it with your Disney movie here) and then becomes original by 1/3 of it…which is practically the ending. We have everyone from the Disney movie but with different names…and our weird ass love triangle that happens at the very end of this book (if you can call it a love triangle but personally I like the sexual way Rhymand is). Overall it would be a great standalone if it was just a retelling…but since there is already a schedule second book date that isn’t the case. Characters: Feyre: Our main female who is a very sensual Belle character….seems to always want to be in Tamlin’s pants…she goes great distances for her lover and is rewarded greatly at the end for saving all the kingdoms. I hated that she was like ‘noo Tamlin’ for like two chapters and them has sex with him the next (Chapter 27 and you can probably count the last chapter too) Tamlin: Like I said before our beast character who is wayyyy too soft to be a beast character. He is the High Lord of the Spring court and apparently everyone loves him. He never keeps her from leaving as long as she stays in the spring court. They had a freaky sexy ritual where he wanted to get into FEYRES pantaloons….and he is as bad as her honestly. Lmao. Lucien: In all honesty my lovelies I got to say I loved the side characters more in this book. Lucien was like the clogsworth of this story- telling Feyre what she couldn’t so or should not do …she ends up doing it anyway. I was so sad about his back story…he is a very loyal friend to Tamlin and I hope in the next book he finds love. GO LUCIEN GET THE BABES! Rhysand: He was my favorite throughout this story. He is kind of like the Lumiou and kind of not…he is like a hot version of Lumiou…who can possibly become a more important love interest to the main character later in the series. I think this book is going to have 3-4 books in it…so I hope maybe Sarah will make it a companion series and talk about the other high lords. I would REALLY like to know more about Rhysand…I love you Rhysand you intoxicating bastard! Amanatha: She is our main villain of the story and honestly who ever likes the bad guy. She takes everyone’s powers and just…doesn’t use them…just makes them scared of her. In all honesty I didn’t see how she got so much power over them in the first place when she was getting others to do her dirty work…manly MY POOR RHYSAND. Lol. There is a lot of other menior characters but I felt like those characters are the main points of the story and the plot. Overall: I read this book in two days…it is actually really good once you get past the first 5 chapters. You get binded into the world Sarah J. Maas had created..and honestly all her books get me suckered in once I get into them. I read this book in two sittings so you can tell that it was good. I did have a bit of a problem with the book in some areas…Like that the good part was at the end. Or 1/3 of the way through…maybe because it was a Beauty and the Beast retelling…so I give it 4 and a ½ stars….💜💜💜💜💔 lol. I will continue on with the series when the next one comes out. Sarah said we should be getting the title for ACOTAR very soon. Until then guys…see ya!
