Sorry for UTMV posting (not actually) but another AU

Basically Undertale + the Nether from Minecraft & it's lore!
From left to right:
Papyrus is a Wither skeleton working in the Nether Fortress (which is like a trading post) alongside Undyne. But he doesn't want to harm players, which makes him considered a softie. (And there are many, many other skeletons in this AU.)
Gaster is the Wither. You have to cut through many Wither skeletons (who appear very similar to Papyrus) to get the skulls to summon him. If you beat him, you get a Monster Soul that won't break.
Sans is a regular skeleton who can use Wither skeleton explosive skulls (in the way he can use Gaster blasters in canon) The regular skeletons are significantly weaker than Wither skeletons.
Monster Kid is a strider who loves getting into places they shouldn't.
Toriel and Asgore are Trader and Brute Piglins respectively (though Toriel is more aggressive and Asgore less so), and they used to live in peace with the civilization of humans/players before they were cast out to live in the Nether. Now they subsist off of golden foods, the only source of regeneration in the Nether. Their prophecy foretells of a human who comes to slay the dragon and free the people of the Nether from the curse that slowly kills them in the Overworld.
Undyne is a blaze that mans the troops of the Nether Fortress and personally trains Papyrus (and hopes to get him to toughen up one day.) She's friends with a certain Strider who stops by the lava lake bay next to the Fortress.
Alphys is a strider, and messenger to and from Piglin/Skeleton populations. She used to have an interest in sciences and making it to the Overworld, but one day, she actually reconstructed a ruined portal, and stepped through to discover the hard way why they took down all the portals. Afraid, she almost hopes they never make it back to the Overworld.

Asriel and Chara emerged into the Overworld through the only means of both of them staying alive in there, killing Asriel for his Soul, which made Chara mortal, but Asriel immune to the effects of the Overworld, but together, they were very quickly killed, because they were just children, and didn't know how to survive night in the Overworld.
