And before the young fox could pronounce something to his own defense, a burning strike shot him right on his chest. The pain was something Sunyu had never experienced before. It felt as if a fire was crackling from his heart, slowly spreading and surrounding him in a torture that he wasn't able to escape. It was surreal, sending the poor boy to the ground and forcing him to shapeshift back into his real form - a fox, fur as dark as the night and eyes blue as the cold ocean. He was struggling hard to push himself back on his feet to gaze back at those who used to be his own, his breathing heavy and difficult. Just as he managed to stand up, a white form dashed towards him, bumping him hard enough to send him flying a few feet further away from the crowd.
"So, this is the famous little rascal, Kim SeonYu, huh?" He heard, yet lay there on the dirty ground, the pain still as intense as it had been just a moment ago. His teeth were clenched in agony as tears streamed down his face, others swelling in his eyes, also. A few sharp gasps would come every now and then, yet he didn't have enough energy to wail out.
"Look at how the one who never did any shit in classes, yet still managed to be the masters' favorite, is now so loathsome with that shameful black fur of his."
"... Please, Akiyo listen to me--"
"I don't want to listen to you!" The other fox yelled out, raising his paw to claw at Sunyu's face, making him yelp in fear and distress. "Why should I listen to you when you're known as someone who never listened or followed the rules like any decent fox apprentice, huh?"
Sunyu instantly curled up around himself, ears pulled back in anticipation as the sound of footsteps was only being the least bit audible when they were a few foot steps away. The presence of the other was, once again, obvious, making Sunyu attempt to look at the face through his tightly shut eyes. His eyelids twitched to raise, which, only provided him with a blurred, darken outline of a familiar face. It was difficult to answer the question, so, he just remained quiet.
"Did you know how annoyed I felt towards you? Seeing you falling asleep during the masters and mistresses' lessons, getting slapped at the back of your head and having you jumping out from your slumber, like a pure idiot screaming about some orange juice crap ready to be served for everyone? Yet, you managed to have everyone forgiving you, being the so called adorable genius among the other kids just because you were able to master your powers earlier than any average kitsune in our territory." The older white fox snarled and pull up the younger by biting him on the skin of his neck to throw him to the opposite direction. Sunyu could see his self worth deplete with every action Akiyo did, whimpers and short gasps of air being the only sound of he could make when the other walked around him like a predator preparing to attack his target.
"Again, it wasn't enough for your disgusting self. You had to go on and let pride take over your mind and poor little being by sneaking in the upper classes to learn on your own, how to shapeshift into your human form. And all of that for what? For that irrational reason of wanting to leave the security and comfort of the kitsune tribes to visit the Humans' Realm."
"I did ask you if you wanted to join me..." The banned fox retorted softly as he rose back to face his rival. He lost his balance for a moment when suddenly a coughing fit took upon him, blood seeping out of his mouth and gradually tainting the ground below him. The smell of rust was easily in the air, contrasting with the freshness of it - not that the aroma really mattered at the moment though. "Why are you telling me all of this when I told you before I wanted us to be friends but not rivals? You are a honorable student who never failed to amaze the instructors with your strong will of learning. I, myself, owe you a lot or respect and--"
"Shut up. Shut the fuck up. I don't need you to admire me and no one would want to hang with a troublemaker like you." Akiyo growled loudly, his dark rimmed eyes narrowing into an aggressive expression. "Did you get anything great by travelling to that place? You were ridiculous enough to believe in love at first sight, falling for that depressed vampire who brought you pain as time went on. Later you became a tramp, wandering here and there without a shelter to stay under, then you relied yourself on that son of Satan. You were a celestial creatures... Why did you choose to stay with the dark creatures?"
"That's because you don't understand how loving people and building friendship is. The vampire boyfriend was a long story that should be left in the past. My friends are Chanyeol, Hansol and Kai. They make me happy and blessed for having them loving and supporting me."
"Friends? Oh, right, you're talking about that dandy and perverted angel married to another of his kind; that other friend of yours who's quite acting like a child despite his own age? What about, again, the demon prince you fell in love with? Cherishing those friends and especially that son of Satan did you wrong. They made you become a sinful one, a bitter monster."
There was an extended moment of silence in which Sunyu growled, lowered his body while his eyes sent daggers at the older one. This conversation was wrong and he couldn't accept it. His friends weren't the one who changed him into a black fox, but himself.
"...Don't you fucking dare insult my friends and drag them into my own matters, Akiyo senpai."
